  2. In case you don't know this is something kinda Square Enix's answer to Steams' greenlight programme and on the face it sounds like a pretty sweet deal for indie developers using crowdfunding. Basically the idea is that an indie developer present their idea to Square Enix and if they like it they will at no cost use their social media network and mailing list to promote your project for you! If the project gets enough votes and positive feedback Square Enix also gives the developer the option to let them assist with their directly with their campaign and even distribute the game for a much smaller revenue percentage then a publisher would normally take. The thing I like about this is because entry is decided by the company rather than users, trolling/click-baiting bullshit like "Watch Paint Dry" or the seemingly endless line of "Simulator" games never get through! In this article from gamasutra a developer who worked on this programme explains more about his experience with it. LINK I've had a few emails about games that this is supporting until now I've not had any concerns about it.... Then I saw this: Fear Effect Sedna Kickstarter Now I'm going to quote a passage from the email they sent me: "Square Enix Collective has licensed the Fear Effect IP to Sushee and is supporting the team by helping to spread the word about the Fear Effect Sedna Kickstarter campaign. But why aren’t we just funding the game ourselves? We think it’s a cool game idea, but this is a chance for a small indie developer to use the Fear Effect franchise and build a name for themselves keeping the majority of sales revenue in the process. So can you help Sushee make this project a reality?" I'm not making this post to debate anything the game itself (it sounds fine) but the very email they sent asks a very legitimate question about this whole situation. If this a game part of the series of an IP they already own then why AREN'T they funding this themselves!? Are they just using this as a method for resurrecting this old franchise using crowdfunding pay for the development? I'd love to know your thoughts on this because as much as I think this is a good scheme now I'm really worried about where this might be going.
  3. Dear Angry Joe: Please help the Gamers Community for what Square Enix is doing to their Final Fantasy. They are now adding Always-Online DRM to punish their Legal Consumers and encouraging Piracy! We need your help!! They might continue doing this for their Final Fantasy XV if it ever comes to PC and Final Fantasy VII Remake. http://steamcommunity.com/app/345350/discussions/0/487876568228905295/

  6. Does anybody else on the AJSA play or have played this somewhat underrated RPG by Square Enix? I know the battle system may turn some away but the story and ability to use Japanese voiceover w/ English subtitles gives me the immersion I need to keep playing it. And if those who use Vsync for their games, the ingame setting does not work and I would suggest using RadeonPro if you have an ATI card to fix that issue (and whatever Nvidia equalivent would be for it), not to mention a bunch of tweaks to make the graphics look better. Another mention that this game can get hard, so if you're looking for a casual RPG don't bother with this one.
  7. Hello everyone! So far in Bravely Default I have put over 60 hours into the game and I am on Chapter 4. Usually I hate grinding, but this game streamlines the process better than any game I've ever played. While my end goal is to master every Job Class, I wanted to see what team setup people are using. Mine are as follows: (Legend: Main / Secondary) Agnes: Spiritmaster / White Mage Edea: Pirate / Swordmaster Tiz: Salve-Maker / Thief Ringabel: Dark Knight / Vampire I look forward to seeing what other people are using. ~HLR68
  8. OK guys so recently I got a copy of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix for the PS3 which included: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Re:Chain of Memories, and 358/2 Days HD Cut scenes. This is my VERY first review so I will take advice and since there are 3 games I will review them one at a time, with that said let's begin with the game that started it all: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. Ok, first off Final mix was released only in Japan and was a better version of Kingdom Hearts 1. It included new weapons, new cut scenes, and a new boss, now after years Final Mix finally comes to the United States in 1.5 HD Remix. So, the story is you play a boy name Sora who is best friends with a boy name Riku, NO NOT THAT RIKKU! And a young girl name Kairi. Being a Square Enix game, Final Fantasy characters make an appearance in the game like Squall, Cloud, and even a optional boss battle with the one-winged angel himself: Sephiroth! Well, Sora, Riku and Kairi want to go to other worlds by building themselves a raft to take them there, one night shit goes wrong real fast when strange creatures called The Heartless invade their world and destroy it the three friends are separated and Sora is left in a new world where he learns about the weapon he gets called the Keyblade which is a mysterious weapon that can lock/unlock anything and is the only thing capable of getting rid of a Heartless for good. There he meets Donald and Goofy who tell him that their king has vanished and left them a note telling them to find someone with a 'key'. So Sora joins the two as they travel to other worlds in search for their friends and to stop the Heartless. That's right! Square and Disney teamed up for Kingdom Hearts where the worlds are Disney movies so your be going to Halloween Town, Neverland and other Disney movies. So the gameplay is...well, simple you got your attack, your magic, your items, and summons which are Disney characters like Simba, Dumbo, and Mushu. You level up and get new abilities that you have to equip with points so you have to think about which abilities are more important. The plat forming is a lot better then the original and the graphics are just perfect. My only problem with the graphic is that most of the game has this default Face on most of the characters when it looks more beautiful when their detailed and they ARE, its just I get creeped out when I see the default face. The music is awesome, having been recorded with REAL instruments the music has that new feel sound to it but also has the Nostalgia toon for old fans. The bosses and enemies are verified each one having their one set of weakness and strength, with the occasional Heartless boss you also get to fight Disney villains along side Disney heroes like fighting Captain hook with Peter Pan or Oggie Boogie with Jack Skeleton. So my personal verdict is a 8/10 its a great game to get people in to the series but there are some problems that annoy me but that's just my opinion if you played this game then what do you think of it, and remember this is my first review so it may not be good. Dylan out!
  9. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix

From the album Pick Uped Games

Get this game back in October for my report card. So far, I have positive responses to this game for bringing back my childhood in HD. Still, Re: Chain Of Memories still sucks.
