  2. Hey guys and gals! James here aka Wade D McGinnis and today I give you the review to the PC release of Steamworld Heist. This is a turn-based 2D steampunk space strategy game. Where the player has control over their shots and hats are the height of your power. Check out the review and let me know your thoughts on it!
  3. XCOM 2 will be available to play in about 13 hours, and once again I am going to be needing soldiers to help me save the world from aliens. Let me know what class you want to play as, if you have a preference for which skills you want to learn in that class, your nickname, how you want to look, if you want a bio, your attitude, your weapon's look, and what voice you want to have. You can also ask to be created as a Scientist or Engineer. I'll be uploading screenshots and videos of my playthrough and we will see how many of us can make it out alive. Like last time, I will not be playing with Iron Man on but will be playing like it is, possibly reloading if there is a glitch, I miss click, or there is some problem with the game. This will be my first time playing XCOM 2 so I might also check to see how things work. If the difficulties are the same I should be playing on Classic (or whatever the one under the hardest setting is). If you want to see some of the options you have to choose from you can watch this video For voice and language options there are 10 US English, 4 UK English, 2 Australian English, 10 French, 10 Italian, 10 German, and 10 Spanish and they can sound different based on a characters attitude type (so until people add mods or their DLC is released there are no Russian voices and no languages from Asia, Africa, or the Middle East). Classes and their abilities Opening Mission (when the tutorial is off) Active Roster Commander Kennan Nickname: Anlashok Na Class: Sharpshooter Role: Killing things with pistols Status: Alive Wade D McGinnis Nickname: Mustang Class: Ranger Role: Killing things with sword Status: Alive Alexander 452 Nickname: Doc Class: Specialist Role: Medic and support Status: Alive Laserrifle 125 Nickname: Encore Class: Grenadier Role: Armor destruction and suppression fire with canon. 4. It's been 4 days since the launch of XCOM 2, but I just have to ask one question: What do you think about the XCOM 2 mods available in the Steam Workshop? In my honest opinion, I believe that the mods available for XCOM 2 are rather fun to use, but they were more like beta testing for a DLC. They may not be perfect, some may even be game-breaking unintentionally, but they are still fun to use.
  5. XCOM 2's release is just under 11 hours away and I would just like to wonder, what are you, The Angry Army, anticipating for the game's launch?

  7. Do you think Firaxis will make a squel of Xcom: EU/EW? Just completed another playthrough a couple days ago after watching Angry Joe and Other Joe play Ghost Control Inc, and several older episodes where Angry Joe and Totalbiscuit played against each other on multiplayer. The ending is short and leaves it open to a sequel, and it's confirmed that your volunteer survived. Also the Uber Ethereal's cryptic message at the end details that there is a greater threat looming on the horizon. Who also agree's that Exalt in EW lost to easily? I know Firaxis is working on Xcom 2 but do you think they'll continue the story? Also believe me I'm looking forward to Xcom 2 to take on the approach of gurellia warfare. Obviosuly it's like EU and EW except where Xcom lost quickly and the Aliens became subugators of earth. But, the E3 trailers doesn't depict human suffering really as those shiny cities seem to be havens at least on the surface.
  8. The world was recently attacked by aliens, for a time it looked like our defeat was assured, but failure is not an option and Alexander452 has been quietly removed from his position. XCOM Command staff has been replaced by trusted higher ups in the AJSA. The war will continue, this is going to be a Long War, but it is one that the AJSA will win, until victory is retconned with the release of XCOM 2. Long War is a more difficult and much longer game than the normal XCOM and they have changed the difficulty options, I will be playing on Classic which used to be the hardest setting other than impossible. I will be treating it as if Ironman is on, only reloading if I do something like miss click, something strange happens with sight lines, or it shoots me through 50 feet of solid rock in that first main story mission that it treats like it isn't actually there, etc. Both of the DLC missions are on, while they still make the game much easier if you complete them the difficulty has been increased to the point where most people seem to prefer to skip them when playing Long War. Red Fog and Commander's Choice is on. Red Fog reduced the aim and mobility of any solider or alien that is wounded and Commander's Choice lets me pick what class I want to give everyone the first time I promote them. Long War Changes Soldier stats are random in Long War they will have different aim, mobility, and will (much lower starting will than in the base game, there are now items and officer abilities to stop panic from spreading). The main game also gives everyone 4 health, except for Snipers who get 3. Long War gives everyone 2-4 health. Long War also gives everyone a defense stat that I assume adds to their ability to dodge incoming fire, I've seen it give soldiers anywhere from a -2 to a +5. There are now 8 classes Scout, Sniper, Infantry, Assault, Gunner, Rocketeer, Medic, and Engineer. Grenades and Rockets are actually useful in Long War, due to the increased number of missions losing salvage isn't as big of a deal (as well as the harder difficulty), there are also new grenade types like Flashbangs to lower accuracy or to remove overwatch. There are new weapons like single shot sawed off shotguns that can be equipped instead of a pistol, SMGs that do low damage but increase your mobility, more accurate rifles that do less damage, less accurate rifles that do more damage, etc. Our base will be in Russia, I don't know what all the changes in Long War is but extra money should also be helpful. Research time is much longer though so unlike the base game building and maintaining things like labs will actually be useful, from what I hear. Long War is a lot different than regular XCOM in how you are going to be using soldiers. Long War starts you with six and allows you to upgrade to eight for larger missions. In addition to getting wounded (which now takes longer to heal from) soldiers also become fatigued, if you send them out again when fatigued they need a long resting period before they can be sent out again. You also no longer have to choose between three missions when abductions happen and you are able to stop more alien activities (although they also do things like bombing runs to increase panic, etc now). Because of this, instead of maybe using 6-8 people like in regular XCOM you are now expected to train about 6-7 squads of six soldiers each, with the first month likely spent on getting as many recruits promoted as you can. I will need a lot of brave soldiers signing up for this army so feel free to give me multiple names to use, let me know what class and voice you want your characters to have. Let me know what color you would like as well. Soldier voice options include English (American), English (British), English (Australian), English (South African), English (SE Asia), English (Euro), French, German, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Russian. Males can also be English (Irish). Roster of less expendable soldiers and their current status Commander Kennan Nickname: Anlashok Na Class: Sniper Role: Lone wolf elevated precision Rank: Sergeant Color: Lighter Purple Nationality: French Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 4/13/44/88/1 Kills: 17 Missions: 7 Status: Alive Eiousx Nickname: Manimal Class: Gunner Role: Halo targetting and shredder ammo, shoot first for high damage and to help others finish Rank: Lance Corporal Color: Pink Nationality: American Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 7/11/42/78/4 Kills: 6 Missions: 6 Status: Alive Laserrifle125: Dreams of becoming a robot Nickname: Hardcore Class: Assault Role: Close range offensive (Aggression, Rapid Fire,) Rank: Corporal Color: Red/Gold Nationality: Russian Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 6/13/47/72/0 Kills: 11 Missions: 5 Status: Alive Mr. Black Nickname: Snake Eyes Class: Sniper Role: High damage, high crit, sharpshooter Rank: Sergeant Color: Black Nationality: German Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 4/13/46/88/-2 Kills: 18 Missions: 9 Status: Alive Lazilot: As someone with an assault rifle Nickname: Psycho Class: Infantry Role: Covering Fire and suppression Rank: Corporal Color: White Nationality: Australian Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 5/14/35/78/1 Kills: 10 Missions: 5 Status: Alive Yor Hunter of the Future (2and900): An American with a penchant for acting in movies from Italian directors Nickname: The Man Class: Rocketeer Role: The Reb Brown (Rockets and overwatch) Rank: Corporal (Lieutenant) Color: Gold Nationality: American Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 6/14/41/79/-3 Kills: 8 Missions: 8 Status: Alive Bartholomew Kaur (2and900): Nickname: Spike Class: Assault Defensive (Will to survive, resilience) Role: Close Range Rank: Corporal Color: Orange Nationality: Irish Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 7/15/41/73/-3 Kills: 13 Missions: 5 Status: Alive Alexander452: A man who feels like this has happened before and is worried about his odds of survival Nickname: Omega Class: Scout Role: Point Man, shotgun, flanking (Long Wolf, Low Profile, Flush, Hit and Run, Tactical Sense, EC) Rank: Corporal Color: Darkish greenish gold kind of Nationality: Italian Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 5/16/36/75/2 Kills: 13 Missions: 5 Status: Alive Dyzz Nickname: Atlas Class: Engineer Role: Sapper Rank: Corporal Color: Tan Nationality: American Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 7/15/39/66/0 Kills: 11 Missions: 6 Status: Alive Bbrooks Nickname: Baroness Nickname: Wolf Class: Gunner Role: High damage, flush, suppressing fire, and heat ammo Rank: Corporal Color: Lightish red Nationality: South African Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 6/14/39/74/2 Kills: 7 Missions: 5 Status: Alive Gunner Nickname: Zero Class: Sniper Role: Low profile disabling sniper Rank: Corporal Color: Dark blue Nationality: British Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 4/13/40/82/3 Kills: 13 Missions: 6 Status: Alive caljkn99 Nickname: Chops Class: Infantry Role: Covering Fire and suppression Rank: Corporal (Lieutenant) Color: Green Nationality: British Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 6/11/46/81/-3 Kills: 14 Missions: 7 Status: Alive Oreyn Nickname: Knight Class: Medic Role: Suppression, smoke grenades, and healing Rank: Corporal (Lieutenant) Color: Teal Nationality: American Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 5/16/47/69/-3 Kills: 10 Missions: 8 Status: Alive AveragePegasus Nickname: Wardog Class: Assault Role: Close Range Defensive (Will to survive, close encounters) Rank: Sergeant Color: Cyan Nationality: Irish Health//Mobility/Will/Accuracy/Defense: 6/13/52/78/-1 Kills: 21 Missions: 6 Status: Alive Mr_E_Meatshield Nickname: Shadow Class: Scout Role: Mid range, covert operative (DGG, Ranger, Scan, Conceal, Sprint, EC) Rank: Sergeant Color: Darker White? 9. Since i highly enjoyed playing Xcom enemy unknown and enemy within and that i was involed in both 2and900's and Laserrifle125's xcom recuitment games. Where forum members could sign up to be in their game. Somehow i was the first casualty in both of those games. anyway, i decided to start my own xcom gameplay The game is Enemy within and the difficulty is classic with Iron man on. I only completed the game once on normal difficulty. (completed both unknown and within), so im not the most experience xcom player So if you're willing to let your digital lives in my hands as a commander in Xcom i will gladly sign you up. No promises that everyone will make it out alive, but im hoping the losses will be to a minimum (hoping) If you want to be something specific (country, gender, class etc) just tell me and i will try my best to get your prefered features If you wanna know when im updating this then follow this topic
  10. Last week, 2K teased us with a cryptic website: AdventFuture.org. On it, a supposedly utopian near-future government called the Advent Administration offered a better life for citizens through genetic enhancement, while hackers subversively replaced text and images revealing that Advent isn’t as benevolent as it seems. Today, IGN First officially announces that the game 2K hinted at is in fact Firaxis Games’ XCOM2, a full sequel to 2012’s critically acclaimed XCOM: Enemy Unknown and a continuation of the now 20-year-old legendary turn-based tactical squad combat series, which will be available exclusively on PC this November. Watch the debut trailer above for a glimpse into a future where the aliens are in control of the Earth, and XCOM has gone underground to fight to overthrow their Advent government. This new guerrilla force will face more powerful enemies in unpredictable combat scenarios as they fight to turn the tables on a technologically superior enemy. 16. I need more soldiers for the meat grinder... uaaaa I mean for the XCOM project! I have been playing more XCOM: Enemy Unknown and after useing all of my friends names and some well know US presidents, I can't think of any other good names. I was going start useing fellow AJSA members but I feel like I should ask permission, so... Or some person form pop culture/TV series/move character/your cat.
  17. Golden Joystick Awards Saw a lot of posts on my twitter of people showing what they voted for, I know some people here have voted when I mentioned it in my pinned thread, so I thought I'd ask what everyone was voting for and give anyone who missed my post one more chance to get a copy of XCOM Enemy Unknown. You do need a greenamngaming account if you want the free copy of XCOM. Some people are having problems getting a code, and I believe they are out of codes for certain countries, but it has been working for most people and is pretty quick and easy to do. Best Original Game: Tearaway Most Wanted: The Witcher 3 Best Indie: Shovel Knight (I have not played Jazzpunk, OlliOlli, and while I've been hearing a lot of great things about Republique the PC version has not been released yet and the mobile version has only had the first two episodes released so far) Best Visual Design: Tearaway Best Multiplayer: Nidhogg Best Audio: Transistor Best Moment: Rayman Legends Music Levels Best Storytelling: The Wolf Among Us Best Online: I have only played World of Tanks, GTA 5, and Destiny from this list and none of those interested me so skipping Best Handheld: Haven't played many of these games but would probably vote for Tearaway since it was something new and different that took full advantage of the system it is on Best Mobile: Haven't played any of the mobile exclusive games, would probably be Broken Age but the game is not done yet. No idea why Republique isn't listed here if it was listed as best indie. Platform of the Year: Steam (not sure why it isn't just PC) Studio of the Year: Blizzard Innovation of the Year: Twitch Personality of the Year: Anita Sarkeesian Game of the Year: The Wolf Among Us If you vote and get a code for XCOM EU, or even if you already have it, you will get an 80% off code for Enemy Within if you sign up for playfire and play the game (or leave it on) for an hour. Well worth signing up for playfire anyway, I think I've gotten about $45 of credit over the last few months. Edit: The time to get a free copy of XCOM should have passed by now
  18. I want to buy all these games, but I only have enough to get one. So, I would very much appreciate if you could voice your opinion on which game I should get. Thanks in advance.
  19. Simply rebuild your gene lab and gene mod your troopers like normal. Have Fun.
  20. XCOM Enemy Unknown and Within would both be amazing games to have tournaments and/or a league in. XCOM is one of if not the best Micro Strategy games on the market. Other Strategy games are all Marco, and do not provide the same feel and play style of XCOM. XCOM multiplayer lacks continuity and if we created that here, it would make the AJSA the place to be to play XCOM online. PROS: 1. You can customize teams and save them to use for future matches with the same teams. 2. Easy balancing of matches with point limits that can be set to a wide range. 3. No charge to play online, once you have the game. CONS: 1. Multiplayer is limited to one on one. 2. No online leader boards of any kind, we would have to manually track our stats after each match. 3. Multiplayer has been known to have some bugs in it. (Maybe fixed with new expansion) Note to staff: If anything needs to be added or expanded upon, please let me know and I will edit it ASAP. (within 24 hours, unless I have an emergency)
  21. From my experience I'd say the Xcom franchise, civilisation V and Frozen synapse. I'm looking for some new turn based strategys to play so I'm looking for your suggestions of the best ones!
  22. Hi guys names DevilScropio but sometimes I go under different names but I'm here actually to ask you guys what game I should get around 20 - 25 or lower. The price is really low but reason why I have to pay for some stuff, but anyways I was thinking about getting XCOM Enemy Within but don't have enough get it and so guys what should I get which by I play on PC and also forgot I was or maybe thinking about putting like 10 to 20 dollars into league of legends but I already pend so much in the game like 500 dollar I think so far but comment your opinions on what I should get. P.S. If you want to play on League of Legends Summoner name is DevilMayCry372 <--- and yeah Devil May Cry sorry I am pretty much a fan boy about DMC and not the new one but the old ones.
  23. Hello everyone, it has come to my attention that the way to get games official doesn't really work in my opinion. I don't really want to go into it but i have a quick example here. CIv 5 a game that myself and around 30 others wanted to get voted up was ineligible stating that there was no guild/clan need. This is fine of course and we accepted this as fact, we still had a group of around 30 and could easily play good full games with that...But my issues lies when games such as Xcom get accepted and is now going through a public poll. I mean you have to admit if Civ5 a game that supports 12 players and can only have one winner in the end was ineligible. Then a 1v1 mp mode that doesn't work half of the time and is very restrictive should also be ineligible. I don't know, this is just my opinion on the subject and would love to hear your guys thoughts - Yoshi
  24. Hey guys, i've been playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown recently and realized: I've only played 1 multiplayer game. I mean, it would be really cool we we could organize some sort of tournament or at least group for playing XCOM multiplayer (even with all its bugs and whatnot, its freaking awesome). I mean, who wouldn't like to have the joy of killing your opponent's best friends with your best friends and just watching the hope slowly drain out of their eyes as their soldiers' will start to crumble and shatter? All sick, twisted thoughts aside, I really think that we should have some competitive XCOM going on here. (I'd probably get eliminated and destroyed real quick.)
