  1. I don't know...am I the only one that's not getting a good feeling about Fallout 76 after watching all the promotional material released so far? I was willing to give the multiplayer aspect a chance, but now it looks like it's going to be just another boring copy of RUST and who knows how many other "survival" shooters, just with a Fallout theme. The idea of exploring the wasteland with your friends is cool, the knowledge that some twelve-year-old jackass can ruin your whole day just because he feels like it is not. I would feel a lot differently about this game if it was strictly PVE.
  2. Ok. Started a new Fallout 4 character on the new Survival difficulty. Run down of the experience so far: 1 - first, before I could even START a new game I had to disable all my mods just to get the stupid game to load. This is a bug because they all worked again once I was able to find a save point and reactivate them. 2 - speaking of saving...limited autosave and no quicksaving got old REAL fast. Now, keep in mind when I play normally I sometimes forget to save at all, and considering how many bugs there are in the game it was fortunate that the game had an autosave. While I like the idea of only being able to save by sleeping in a bed the game is faaaaaar too unstable to make this practical. Oh, did I mention I was KILLED BY TRYING TO SLEEP SO I COULD SAVE??? Fixed it by downloading a mod. 3 - no fast travel...I'm actually looking forward to working around this. Since this is a new character I haven't made it very far yet. but I think not being able to fast travel is going to force me to set up mini-bases at the various settlements. I'll definitely have to create market stalls so I can sell stuff. So far this promises to be the neatest challenge to work with. 4 - hunger, thirst, tiredness and disease...all features that I intentionally modded into Skyrim and other Fallout games. The only problem I have is that while the effects they have on you are great (not regenerating health and action points as quickly, difficulty aiming/lockpicking, etc.) they come on you way to quick. I drank two purified waters until it said I was properly hydrated and ten minutes later I was thirsty again. Will have to find or request a mod to adjust those values. 5 - no console...the command is locked out so you can't access it. normally this is fine, half the time I hit the stupid ` key while trying to hit 1 anyway. But...I have a crafting mod installed that allows you to place objects more precisely and make your settlements look much nicer (also helps get rid of those annoying corpses that won't de-spawn). It requires the console to work. Have to find a fix or my settlements are going to look boring again. Beyond that I need a few more tests. The "no saving" was the biggest draw back, which I knew it would be. Like I said, Bethesda games are just far too unstable to make limited saving a practical feature.

  9. So, Tuesday Bethesda released their final (supposedly) DLC for Fallout 4. And it instantly introduced some game breaking bugs for quite a few users. I'm not sure if anyone else had this issue, but as soon as I talked to the guy at the station, powered the monorail, and got on board I got stuck in the monorail tunnel. I was unable to do anything except look around and listen to the PR system describe all the wonderful sights of the park in what I assume was supposed to be a neat little monorail ride ala Half Life 1. It was quite aggravating. But what was even worse was when I looked it up to see if anyone else had experienced this bug and discovered that Bethesda seems to have been almost ignoring it. Despite having a lot of mods installed I was able to confirm that they weren't the issue (many players on PS4 and XBox with unmodded games reported the same issue). Some suggested uninstalling previous DLCs like Far Harbor in order to fix the issue, but even if that works I think Bethesda should be ashamed that they didn't play test this thing. Fortunately I've been hooked on 7 Days to Die recently, so I have plenty to do until an official fix gets released...if it does? What can you really do when it feels like the developer only half cares about their own product? Bethesda has always been known for bugs, sometimes pretty bad ones, but I've always tried to give them the benefit that they were tying their best. Not sure that's actually the case anymore.

Other content I found interesting this week THE PEWDIEPIE "SCANDAL"!! I noticed that the NicheGamer editor with the "can we hate him now" quote is the same guy who was recently going on a homophobic and transphobic rant about not wanting to support No Man's Sky last week, while also talking about his ban dodging (if anyone wanted to know why I don't use sites like that for the news post, that would mostly be the reason why). That aside, I was worried I linked to some badly written clickbait last week, thankfully I didn't. I read the FCC and Polygon article (which is the one I linked to) which actually just says that he was one of the people paid, Polygon's mention of him just said Which is correct, even PewDiePie says he now puts disclosures in a place where they are immediately visible, they also weren't one of the ones to use his image for their article or even mention him in the headline. You really can't call the Polygon article clickbait when he wasn't even mentioned in the preview part of the article on their homepage. The Verge article being the opposite with him as the first word of the title, his image being attached, saying he is a reviewer, and saying he didn't disclose it. The ones saying he didn't disclose at all, using his picture for the headline, and saying he reviewed it, that would typically be something that I look more into, but he was such a minor inclusion to the FCC and Polygon write up that it didn't even cross my mind to think about him. 11. Hello everybody, I am unsure of this being a forum topic that already exists elsewhere (or should I say, Elsweyr) on this website, but I intend this to be a discussion for what we think are good ideas for the sixth game in the Elder Scrolls franchise. I'd love to hear other ideas, so please, feel free to post any idea you want to see come to fruition. When I think of what the Elder Scrolls 6 can be, I try to think of areas of where the story can expand to, and all of the different landscapes that the world of Nirn and the continent of Tamriel have to offer. I think an interesting setting for this game would be Hammerfell, as it offers variety from previous seen realms. To start, the events preceding Skyrim with the Empire signing the White-Gold Concordat saw this province remove itself from the Empire, as it refused to bow to the Aldmeri Dominion. This could create an interesting plot where Hammerfell is possibly invaded by the Aldmeri Dominion and they must resist their conquest, or one where it is years after the signing, and the Empire wishes to reclaim it as a province. Also, the differing religious beliefs between this province and the others could be another possible thread. Either way, these are just options for the plot that I do believe is plausible. In addition, Hammerfell's vast size and geography offers variation unlike any other province. From the unforgiving Alik'r Desert in the west to the monstrous Dragontail Mountains to the east, a rich history for the province, and it being Tamriel's third-largest province, Hammerfell offers everything a player could ask for. Bethesda could go a step even further by also incorporating the province of High Rock into the game, as well as Hammerfell. High Rock offers variation in the forms of both Geography, internal conflict between the varying social classes, and the present city state of Daggerfall. This would add even more to the previously listed points, with even more rich history. But that is a discussion for another day. Thanks for reading this. I needed a place to rant, and respond with your own ideas, questions, or points if you feel inclined to do so. Have a nice day!

  14. The early reviews for the DOOM multiplayer beta are starting to roll in and so far the biggest "complaint" I've heard is that it's too much like Unreal Tournament. Considering I think Unreal Tournament was one of the best multiplayer games ever made I take that to mean this game is going to be ******* AWESOME! I am soooo tired of CoD, Battlefield and Halo clones, it's about time we kicked it old school and reminded gamers of their roots. Could I be wrong?
  15. A Price Of Games Journalism It is interesting how often this tends to happen, and can make you wonder what other websites or magazines are blacklisted and by what companies for what reasons, though Kotaku's blacklists at least aren't related to negative reviews or coverage. Jim Sterling has mentioned Konami doing the same when he was at Destructoid over review scores. I saw someone mention that he was blacklisted by Sega while editing a magazine about Sega.
  16. Impression Piece on the Fallout: DUST overhaul game/mod of New Vegas. Thoughts? Fallout: DUST (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57927/?) As I said in the video I did have some problems with this mod. Such as the weight limit and some of the crafting issues. Here a list of mods that I used to rebalance the game. 20. This was a experiment I made to see if I could make a trailer for a mod. The essence of the mod is giving a follower the power to use the thuum by being tied to you. The trailer I took the essence of the Sith rule of two One to hold the power and one to crave it. I made this a while ago and thought I would post it. I would like to do more of these and not just limited to Skyrim when I get the time. Tell me your thoughts? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHsYiUWcKgw
  21. Just seeing people's opinion of the series, I think it's really good.
  22. I know this should be on the Bethesda forums, but I wanted to know what the Angry Army thinks. I am a huge fan of the Fallout games and I have been playing them since I was a kid back in the mid 90's. Heck Fallout 3 won game of the year in 2008 and Fallout New Vegas won some awards but wasn't as good as Fallout 3. I bought an XBOX ONE because I want top of the line graphics to play all of my games on (mostly Bethesda and a few other game developers). There has been nothing but rumors and hearsay about "Fallout 4" as most people are calling it. The guy who plays Three dog in Fallout 3 has said that "There will be more of the dog coming soon..." That was last year. I was hoping that they would announce the name or a teaser trailer or something small like that by now! It is rumored that it will be in Boston. It could be in Mexico for all I care. As long as they use the compatibility from the XBOX ONE and PS4 to it's full extent. Well that's my opinion. Take the poll and reply if you agree or don't agree. I just had to get that out there.
  23. ZeniMax recently posted job adverts for game programming and quest designing. The avert says it is looking for " talented programmers to join our team that is pushing the bleeding-edge of RPG development for pc and consoles. " It also lists experience in the gaming industry, as well on gaming consoles; passion for making great games, and experience playing previous Bethesda games as requirementd, among others. Link: http://jobs.zenimax.com/requisitions/view/76 For te quest designer Bethesda says that "In this role the Quest Designer would be responsible for designing and documenting stories and quests for future next generation products". They also say that Excellent storytelling, dialogue writing, and editing skills, experience with one or more scripting languages, and experience with The Elder Scrolls Construction Set or GECK are requirements. Plus a 2-5 page submission, focusing on dialogue. Link: http://jobs.zenimax.com/requisitions/view/75 Aplicatiion forms are also linked on the webpages.
  24. Recently, a group of dedicated Fallout Redditors, including myself, were informed that the website we had been tracking since November 15th was a hoax. While some people may have already thought it was, I myself was deeply frustrated by the whole event. I had sunk quite some time into decoding, and even more time speculating on the Reddit threads, so learning that it was fake was quite a blow. But that isn't what this is about. The point of this story is that Bethesda Softworks, the owners/creators/whatever of the Fallout franchise did not inform us of that the site was a hoax until December 6th, in which they simply released a tweet saying that all announcements that do not come through an official channel should be regarded as fake. This to me, was very aggravating. The fact that we were not informed in a timely manner, and that we were allowed to be led on by Bethesda makes me question how PR reps should act. While I understand that not all ARG's and teaser sites are true or real, I still wish that I had been informed earlier. But on the other side, I also believe that companies shouldn't always give in to fan pressure, and that sometimes surprises are better than known announcements. So, the final question I pose to you is this: Should PR reps inform the public more often on what is going on with their franchises, and should fans be told promptly and firmly whether or not news and supposed teaser sites or ARG's are real or fake? So, would you kindly vote in the poll and leave what you think in the comments below? Thank you.
  25. Yes they're both made by the same company and have very similar play styles, but both have different charms to them
