Hello fellow AJSA members! I am making this topic to ask for your opinion on what would be a good development software to make Fighting games. I am a new coder/wannabe game developer so I don't have that much experience in this field. However, my passion for fighting games and games in general has influenced me to make my own fighting game. So far the only software Ive thought about using is Unity since its a popular engine (and the free price tag isn't bad either) but I'm curious if there are other software that are good for making fighting games. I know Mugen is a popular engine but that seems to be more of a "Drag & Drop" thing than actually creating your own game. Plus, I want to be able to market my product in the future and you aren't allowed to do that in Mugen (But for some reason I am wrong, don't hesitate to prove me wrong!) I guess would prefer something that is "Newbie friendly" Since my coding isn't the greatest but I don't mind going beyond the limit to make something that can be really enjoyable. I appreciate your help
Flying Potato posted a topic in General DiscussionDo I have to have the website finished before I buy a hosting package? Could I just buy a domain & host and publish the site when it's ready or does it have to be published when the hosting service is bought? Many thanks guys and gals
I have always wanted to start a game company, and in the last few months, I actually have a crew who really wants to do this. I am really excited for all of us, and my goal for us is just to create a completely functional game with minimal errors. Even though we all might as well have no experience making games, we want to make something we can call our own. It is not our intention to make a selling product; something more like a resume piece. If it does really well, that's a bridge we will cross later. We have ideas, but we are having a hard time keeping are ambition from making this project unreasonable. I was wondering what makes a good game for you? What ideas would you like to see? Hopefully this can help us keep a certain focus while developing. Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated, and I couldn't personally thank you enough. Thank you again, PloKloon
We here all love playing games, I'm sure. But I want to know:(because I'm genuinely interested) Who here wants to get into game development, or indeed has already begun developing/creating their own game? And what area of development are you most interested in, if your answer was "Yes"? If you haven't but would like to, I'd suggest researching: -Game Engines (Unity, Cry, UDK) -Modelling Software (Maya, Blender, Max) -Scripting (Books, Youtube, Src Code)
