  1. I haven't played Dota 2 in a few years, and I was going to reinstall, but I saw a bunch of posts about how toxic the community has become. Should I even bother reinstalling, or should I just stick with HotS/Smite/Paragon?

Team roaster results from big Dota Tournaments in the late two years, was shown to the Pro Scene. Team Secret Captain Puppy, tweeted out in realization: In result Arteezy had an exclusive Transfer to EG. Arteezy responded on tweeter with: PPD refused to give a comment on the Transfer for Arteezy, he stayed all business as usual. This is a Major Change in the way teams will approach their Roaster Changes after April the First this year. I welcome it with a smile and congrats to TS for securing TI6 win.

  4. Ok since there is more than enough demand for this game it has been decided that DOTA 2 will be getting official support from the Angry Army, starting with an official guild in the game. This guild will be the Official place for Angry Army members to meet and play with other Angry Army members. I have also chosen two game officers who will be assisting me in the running of the guild those being mrfool and MrDerwisj.   6. With the nearing of Christmas, Valve is getting in the spirit by giving us yet another patch. Not so much a content patch but more along the lines of balance. We will not be getting the Winter mode much like last year but we will still be getting the Winter map. There are some goodies for people that enjoy spending their money.   7. We are now on Day 2 for the Foreseer's Contract. With it, we have been given some more information regarding the new patch. Which of course includes the new hero, Oracle Out of Chaos and Causality, the great Foreseer emerges. Oracle has come to let you seize the fates of both friend and foe. Weave your power into a harmful bolt that stops your enemies and removes helpful auras. Or render an ally resistant to harmful magics. Combine either approach with your double-edged purifying flames, and you'll have all you need to aid or destroy. Still in danger? Delay an ally's doom with a false promise, and give them the time needed to see their destiny to its fullest. As Oracle, the future is always in your hands. Fortune's End - Channel a power into a bolt of scouring energy that stops and removes buffs from enemies Fate's Edict - Briefly render a target immune to magic damage, while boosting all damage from other sources and removing their ability to attack. Purifying Flames - Instantly burn a friend or foe, then heal them slowly over time. False Promise - Grant an ally invisibility while moving and attacking. Any damage or healing they receieve will be delayed until the spell ends. Along with the new hero, Valve will be releasing the new Arcana item for Phantom Assassin. When the end is nigh, your creep waves will bring death to your enemy's doorstep. Heroic Effigies Those who purchased this year's Compendium for The International have a new way to display their heroism! Heroic Effigies are a new customization feature allowing players to sculpt their favorite hero, along with any items they have equipped, into a statue for their team's base. To craft an Effigy, first grab your Effigy Block of Triumph, and then use it to open the Sculptor menu and begin posing your hero. After you've set your statue's equipment, pose, and written your inscription, you're ready to create your Effigy. Once equipped from your loadout, your Heroic Effigy will appear in your team's base for all to see. Compendium Gems & Emoticons The Dormant 2014 Compendium Gems have finally awoken! Peek inside your armory and you'll discover a shiny new 2014 Compendium emoticon and a gem. Use the emoticon in chat, or slot the gem into an item to show off your International Compendium level.   8. Considering there is a plethora of entertaining, insightful, and hilarious DotA 2 videos/Images out there, I thought I would make a thread dedicated to posting them. I know often I found videos and shared it with those on TeamSpeak but with this thread, I can share them with a greater audience. With that said, I shall start off with a number of videos. Korean player Min-Woo Lee (known as Dr. Lee) showing off some impressive Toggle Micro while showing little to no emotion. In DotA 2 everything works. So here is a video of some... entertaining builds and the most deadly of them all, the five-man blademail build. Documentary by ImbaTV on the TI4 champions, Newbee. One of my personal favorites--the audio is from an episode of Game Grumps when they are playing through Sonic '06 put to DotA 2 animation.
  9. This in-house will have a lobby or lobbies open for guild members to get together and play DOTA 2. You will need team speak for this event. If you don't have team speak I or someone else will help you. To get in the event is simple all you have to do is join the DOTA 2 lobby in team speak. From there you will be directed by your DOTA 2 officers or volunteers on were to go. From there you will placed in a lobby and a chat channel. The more demand for in-house games all the more lobbies and channels that will used. If you have horrible connection you are allowed to watch or broadcast in the lobby.

To Craigr910, mrfool, DStBone, Thrower, TimidT (AKA Ziggy), and whoever else it may concern- We, and several others, would like to propose a refresh of the DOTA 2 Guild and the correlated Steam Group. There is one reason for this: lack of commitment. “Represent [AJSA]” is point 4 on the AJSA Code of Conduct that all forum members agreed to. Part of that rule stated that members should have an AJSA tag in their name in games that the AJSA is active in. This is a fairly common sense rule, and at least for DOTA 2 players, it is very easy to implement; there isn't much of a reason not to follow it. However, this rule is blatantly disregarded by a startlingly large amount of Guild and Group members. In the in-game Guild, there are 443 members at the time of this writing. However, only 69 members have the '=AJSA=' tag, 7 members have the '[AJSA]' tag, and 5 members have the 'AJSA.' tag. That is 362 members (18 pages in the in-game member viewer) that do not have any kind of AJSA tag. In addition, the DOTA 2 Steam Group has 664 members in it. Only 59 members out of that group have AJSA in their name. That leaves 605 Steam Group Members without any AJSA tag. We see little reason for this discrepancy between AJSA tag holders and AJSA members. If people are playing other games and do not want to wear the tags there, that is fine, but it is simple to change your Steam name when playing DOTA 2; the DOTA 2 client even lets you change it in-game. However, we know not everyone is doing this, because from the Steam Group (where only 59 members have a tag) we have seen 100+ members in DOTA 2. This exemplifies a lack of commitment perfectly: if you forget, are too lazy, or simply don't care enough to add all of 6 characters to your name, you are likely not committed to the AJSA and are not representing it in-game. “Stay Active & Participate” is point 5 on the AJSA Code of Conduct. This rule is extremely self-explanatory. However, we have witnessed multiple times where an announcement about an inhouse game will be made to the Steam Group, and too few people will show up. Many of the people that do show up will not have forum accounts and will not have ever connected to TeamSpeak before. Tournaments come and go with comparatively few people participating. It is usually the same small group of people that are active on the forums. We understand that this is very subjective to criticize people on. However, given the fact that this kind of thing keeps recurring, we think it is something to take into account. We believe many active members would not disagree with us stating that the community generally feels stale, uninspired, and dull. In other words, for such a large community, nothing ever seems to be happening. In addition, not only are people not participating, but several dozen members of the Steam Group have not been online in the past 60 days, the limit of absence stated on the Code of Conduct. Several users have not been online in more than 100 days. Our proposed solution is as follows. In order to remedy the problem, we need to increase commitment of AJSA members to the in-game Guild and related Steam Group. What we suggest is to post announcements to the online forums, Group, and Guild instructing members to post into a forum thread with their Steam name they can be contacted at. To eliminate the problem of people changing steam names, members could be asked to include their Steam ID (the unique, unchangeable identifying number in the format of STEAM_X:X:XXXXXXXX) or their Vanity URL (the unique, changeable identifying web address your Steam Profile can be reached at, in the format of steamcommunity.com/id/XXXXXX, which can be changed in your Edit Profile page on your Steam Account). After a certain period of time, perhaps 30 days, a new AJSA DOTA 2 Guild would be created, along with a correlating Steam Group, and all users who posted their Steam name to the forum thread would then be invited to those two new organizations. After all the users were added, the old Guild and Group could be deleted. This functions as a form of spring-cleaning; users that don't bother reading the notifications they receive from the Steam Group, checking up on the online forums, or keeping tabs on the Guild would essentially be removed. Those members who might not have added their name to the thread before the old Guild/Group deletion could always go onto the forums and request to be added. This provides a fairly painless, thought-out, and respectful way to insure that those who are in the Guild and Group are committed to the AJSA. After that step, the next action would need to be ongoing: keeping people engaged. There are a myriad of ways to do this. Something that was briefly experimented with was the idea of having weekly inhouses. We believe a lot of players would enjoy taking a break from the toxic community of DOTA 2 pubs to play against other AJSA members. During the International 4, there was almost an informal viewing party on the TeamSpeak as members would join to collectively watch the games. If those were more publicized, they would be a great way for members to interact with each others. Natural Delema has volunteered to help run an AJSA DOTA 2 YouTube Channel, which could post highlights of AJSA players or inhouse games, stream tournaments in addition to Twitch, or release comedy pieces (if you don't know what we are talking about, check out here, here, and here). Tutorials could be posted there, and the videos could be promoted through the forums, Guild, and Group. Additional officers could be initiated, perhaps from US time zones, to help more regularly organize events. The idea is simply to keep people engaged, which will keep them committed. The system will begin to sustain itself, as over time people will step up to be leaders as other leaders move on. Together, we believe we can make the DOTA 2 experience at AJSA more enjoyable for all of us. Thanks for your time. I see that the AJSA Dota 2 Steam Group has 5 officers, 0 sergeants, and about 663 members (including the inactive ones), but that is not how a chain of command works guys. Other AJSA communities have plenty of sergeants below officers to do activities and such in-game, so the officers can focus on larger tasks and community improvements. The PlanetSide 2 community is run this way, and they have a fairly active group of more than a thousand players who regularly show up for events. We have a much smaller amount of members, but we only get 100+ people in-game, and even then we only get 5 to 10 people on TeamSpeak. I personally don't care who is officer or who is in command. This isn’t the military, but I think everyone likes some level of order. A little bit of order makes way for a lot of fun, and people will join events and participate in the community if it is fun."
  11. Ahoyhoy Mateys. Ill be looking for some DOTA 2 coaching to play some interesting heros. I really want to be coached on how to play Morphling. For a little back ground iv played for about 1000 hours on non ranked matches only, fav hero's are kunkka, brew master, lina, and witch doctor. If anyone can coach me on morphling, or enchantress, sucessful stacking of the jungle, that sort of thing id be very happy. I just need a couple of matches because ill pick it up very quickly with all my previous experiance.

Those that dare to play -Ap during this period will learn the horrors and suffering that is techies. The new patch will include: All Random DeathmatchGallery of TriumphsAll-Hero ChallengeAll Random Deathmatch-This was already in the game (can be played via console) but it is finally getting added. Essentially you get a hero and when you die, you spawn as a different hero. You keep your items which makes items like blink dagger important since it is so versatile. Each team has a pool of 40 heroes and once all 40 have been killed, you win. You can also win by destroying the other teams Ancient. Gallery of Triumphs-It is essentially achievement within the game. Accomplish a certain challenge and you will be rewarded with a trophy. Example being the completion of the Ten Hero Challenge. All-Hero Challenge-Upon opening your DotA profile, you will be assigned a random hero and once you claim Victory, you will move on to the next hero. You will be shown the average number of matches it has taken for all players worldwide to win and upon completion, you will get a trophy. The compendium owners from TI4 will be getting the Assured Victory Shout, Taunt for techies, Battle Glory Kill Banner, and the International 2014 Music Pack. Along with the content, there will be a variety of changes to the game but not so much balance related.   14. So i have seemed to come across a vary troubling issue with my DOTA 2 gaming experience. It seems i have run into... and this is not over exaggerated or made up... but i have run into a 11 game losing streak. This is by far the worst case of just plain bad luck! I will start off with a player who never picks his hero and will sit in the selector the whole game, trolls that seem to do anything in their power to make my team lose, and worst of all i am matched with people using cave-man technology to power the internet in their homes be it hamster wheels or ox pulled gears they seem to only join the game so the can DC at lvl 4. I have tried to play with the guild, even had a party up for 3 games trying to rid myself of this curse and perhaps cast it upon another. I have pleaded to both my own team and the enemy to PLEASE LET ME WIN! but alas none of it works! I have traveled to the farthest shops in the middle of the forest and bought the most expensive and ludicrous items but still I am double shafted by the shopkeeper and am forced to be beaten until my money is all gone and I can never reach the price of the true item that I require! So now dear AJSA brothers what can I do to help myself from rage quieting and uninstalling DOTA 2 forever? How do you get out of a .. please before the Dire reaches the Ancient! .

  23. Hello, so I saw that there are quite a few teams already. I viewed 2 Tournaments in the AJSA my self as a spectator. But sadly I see only 2-3 Teams from the AJSA actually joining the TS server and playing with other people there. So I will make this thread to help the teams that are interested in more serious training In-Hause. The Team Challange idea is simple. You have a team of 5 players on your side. You post your desire here that you like to Challenge a Team. Then the rest of the teams PM the one that put up the challenge and you both arrange the times suitable for your players. With private massages pls. If the challenge have been accepted then edit your post and mark it as accepted by team "whoever" so that no one else continue to pm you for the same challenge. This is not official AJSA Idea just mine. It's just In-Hause training for the AJSA Teams. No games will be recorded or supervised. Everyone should act according the AJSA Codex and manners. I hope to find better, harder and more important consistent opponents here, then in the regular ranked/unranked Captain Modes. I hope this will be helpful to all the Teams in the AJSA. I know most us started making Teams after we joined the AJSA, so don't wary I am sure that there would be some very good teams and some beginner teams. Please show understanding that we all love this game and we want to get better and have better opponents.

  25. So you load in a match, you just loaded in and there are 4 other heroes, and your own hero, in your fountain. You press enter to chat. Below where you type, on the left, is a glorious little button. It's like the button you use to not listen to the coach if there is one. But it's better. It's glorious. It's the single best change in dota 2. It's a button that mutes all and any chat. You cannot read chat. You can still type and your teammates will receive it. But you? You don't have to read. You don't need confirmation that you are horrible at mid. You don't have to "gang" anymore. They say "какого черта я набрав" But you don't know. They insult you. But you don't care. You are a god now. Play the game. Be awful (cause be honest, everyone is terrible at dota) Enjoy. I just hopefully pointed out something that will make a lot of people happy. Go forth. Go forth and feed. And don't give a s**t.
