  5. IMPORTANT: Probably this will sound n00bish and it may have been answered somewhere else but here goes nothing. Hello there AJSA community. So just a few days ago I returned too my Xbox 360 to play Battlefield 4 after playing Halo 5: Guardians, Star Wars Battlefront, and World of Tanks Xbox One Edition and found myself with the following issue..... WHERE ARE ALL THE DICE SERVERS!?!?!?!?!?!? I REMEMBER SEEING THEM IN THE RANKED SERVERS SECTION LAST TIME I PLAYED AND THERE NOT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (takes deep breath and calms down) Sorry about that outburst guys XD But yeah I last remember that the DICE servers were on the ranked servers section and now they're gone. All I find are rented player or clan servers in both Official and Ranked servers. Example: Today I tried to play BF4 but every time I looked for a server on Quick Match all I got were player servers where if you had lag you would get banned. Then there were two servers where apparently the admins don't like getting one shotted by shotguns or shot out of the sky with Stingers and Iglas (if there are other more concrete reasons for such rules let me know please) and would ban anyone who uses them. Please I would appreciate your answers as to what happened that there are no more DICE servers. Thank you very much

  7. I've read and seen a lot of criticism about the game, which, in my eyes, seems mostly unfounded. I've played about 8 hours of the trial now and I absolutely love it. I was immediately sucked back in to the world that I loved from the first three games, almost seemlessly. However, I see a lot of criticism about the faces and how the game looks, amongst other things. Are people STILL salty about the ending of Mass Effect 3? Or is the criticism genuine? For me personally, this is definitely a Game of the Year-contender, so far.

  10. Battlefront at the moment is Schedule to release in holiday 2015 Hey everyone. I decided to create this thread to gather any and all suggestions you have about battlefront that Dice hopefully listens closely to and e-mail it to them in order for the game to be as good as possible and stay true the the core of what battlefront is and at the same time adding new features that could suit the game. You can put in you suggestions/ideas from other battlefront threads such as battlefront is a first person shooter if you posted any there or not. It's a long shot I know, but there's nothing wrong with trying anyway. I'll update my own post if I come up with any more. My suggestions so far: 1. The game should support 60 players on xbox one, ps4 and pc using 60 fps with lots of details and effects since you are using the frostbite 3 engine and have dedicated servers. If the frame rate works well and is stable and smooth in 60 fps, then you can use it as 343 industries has done with the halo mc collections. 2. Faster, more intense dogfights, enable thrusters for ground vehicles/spacecrafts to boost the craft's speed for a short period of time. Enable evasive maneuvers/ countermeasures to prevent missiles to hit you from behind for example as seen in star wars episode 2, the clone wars movie where obi wan is being chased by jango fett, and in revenge of the sith opening battle sequence. 3. Enable optional cockpit view in space vehicles/land vehicles. 4. Acquiring upgrades and somehow outfit you'r factions ship/ units in multiplayer and its weapons/armor etc to improve them in combat. Having stats for these would be good too. 5. Put in Cooperative challenges in terms of different kind of scenarios of various difficulties in MP for the community to participate in, create something like Star Wars Battlelog similar to BF's Battlelog if it could work. 6. Make sure that the game ships with as much content as possible that should be in the main game at launch, and that the game is as glitch, bug free and runs as smooth as possible avoiding what happened to Bf4's launch. 7. DLC/add on content if needed for the game, if it enhances the gaming experience with new modes, new characters, new armor modifications, new weapons, new vehicles. There should be enough content so that nothing major is missing. Adding content to the game is fine and depending on what kind of dlc it is and if it was in the game at launch or not should determine if the dlc should be free or be bought for a small fee. Please do not shower this game with micro-transactions.

  13. Mass Effect ANDROMEDA UPDATE By Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare With Mass Effect™: Andromeda, our team at BioWare™ is exploring how far they can take this beloved franchise. Yes, we’re building the best of what we all love about Mass Effect – amazing stories, characters and fun third-person shooter combat – and bringing them along with us on the expedition to Andromeda. But we’re also excited to be introducing new features and ways you can enjoy a Mass Effect game. • More Freedom: One of our biggest ambitions is to give players an unprecedented level of freedom for a Mass Effect experience –where you’ll go, how you’ll get there, and how you’ll play. • New Uncharted Worlds: We’re leaving the Milky Way behind and headed to Andromeda, where we’ll meet new allies, confront new enemies, and explore fascinating new worlds. • The Next Great Mass Effect Experience: Mass Effect: Andromeda will be the first Mass Effect game for today’s consoles and the first built on the Frostbite engine. We’re pushing the technology to deliver visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done in franchise history. As we’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction. But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that’s our commitment from all of us to all of you. Because of that, Mass Effect: Andromeda will now ship in early 2017. We can’t wait to show you how far we’re all going to go. We’ll see you at the EA PLAY press conference on June 12, with an update. Thank you for your patience and support. 14. http://techarx.com/respawn-entertainment-to-develop-the-next-star-wars-game/ So news are just in that Respawn Entertainment will be creating a new Third Person Star wars game set in the Star Wars universe. I don't know whether I should be happy about it or not but I sure can hope it is. The game will be Heeded by Stig Asmussen, who directed God Of War III once so I guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope. Also, if this is the wrong forum to post about this, then apologies. I'm still new here and getting a grasp of it slowly.
  15. The post launch support will suck, and here's why. And no, it's not this news that they're already announcing sequels, although that is a factor in that ideas for improvement may just be saved for the newer games instead of being patched in. It's about the season pass. To explain what I'm on about, we first have to look at another multiplayer only shooter published by EA, Titanfall. When the game first launched, allot of people were bummed buy it's lack of content for a full priced game (familiar story, eh?), but was heavily tweaked with better balancing, matchmaking, levelling, emblems and a multitude of new game modes in the months following the games launch. Werther one feels with all this game was still worth it the price comes down to the individual, but the most important thing is this was added at no additional cost completely separate from the games DLC packs and season pass. The season pass also was eventually offered for free with DLC maps put into general circulation, but that was after quite a while from launch and I'm not gonna count them for this, it's still worth noting that happened though. Now on to the season pass. Each of the three DLC packs offer new cosmetics, but more importantly three new maps for $10 each or $25 for the season pass. So if I'm getting my maths and assumptions correct that's not far of the same amount of content currently advertised as being a part of the Battlefront's season pass for about half the cost. So, already Battlefront's DLC looks bullshit by comparison, but I fear it's going to get worse. Here is what was put into the game for free outside of the bug fixes and balancing ect. Marked for Death Game Mode Marked for Death Pro Game Mode Pilot Skirmish Game Mode Frontier Defence Game Mode Private Matches (TBH, should have been there from the start, so you could call that a patch) New Insignias New Unlockable OS Voices Deadly Ground Game Mode Stipulation DLC Maps Added to Circulation Now on to the point Given that Battlefront's season pass doesn't offer much more (IMO) that Titanfall's did, what do think the odds are that Battlefront will have this much added to the game for free? Not a chance. EA and DICE simply can't afford to not lock this stuff behind the season pass to help justify it's cost. I'm not saying DICE aren't gonna improve the game, but it'll be the kind of patching and general improvements that are necessary and always, nothing extra. Being a seasonal EA game, DICE will inevitably be kept busy with these bug fixes and balancing. Titanfall was developed by Respawn who weren't exactly very busy in year post Titanfall except for post launch support on that game, not like DICE who'll be working on at least one other Battlefront and probably a new Battlefield over the next few years. DICE won't have the time nor the budget to develop the equivalent of what we got for free in Titanfall and the amount of DLC to justify that kind of cost of that season pass planned for Battlefront separately, there's just no way. This coupled with new Battlefronts already announced means the post launch support of Battlefront is going to suck. That is my prediction. That's something EA were actually doing pretty the last year or two. What a shame.
  16. Ever since Star Wars Battlefront 3 is now in beta, I got the chance to play it, and the game is actually fun to play. The graphics of the game looks amazing, the environments really makes you feel that you're a Stormtrooper blasting away those rebel scum, the gameplay, sadly, feels like your ordinary FPS. The only thing that bothers me during the beta, is that, there's no space battles. Space Battles what made battlefront, battlefront! (for me at least). Well, there's dog fights in ground battles, that's okay, but I really wanted the space battles, imagine the possibilities of the Frostbite engine 3, if they have space battles, your ship will take precise damage (example: left wing broken). Enough of space battles. In game, you can play in 1st Person or in 3rd Person, 1st person's aiming, doesn't look pleasant, while aiming (in 1st person), it takes up the screen, making it an disadvantage, so i prefer playing in 3rd person. This game is pretty okay, but not that great or bad, just an okay game for me.
  17. Article A lot of games have been getting removed not just from the App store, preventing new people from buying them, but also from purchase histories of customers who have already bought the game, preventing people from downloading games that they paid for again. If it was a game that was only available on the App store it would prevent anyone playing it at all over time. This isn't just from smaller companies but now from 2K, EA, Capcom, Sega, and possibly Telltale.
  18. I've been dubious about EA's dedication to Star Wars Battlefront. But after announcing how it put all it's focus into the multiplayer, surely we could count on all the bells and whistles of a major multiplayer game destined to last for years, right? Oh... Oops. Sources: Destuctoid: http://www.destructoid.com/star-wars-battlefront-won-t-have-a-server-browser-308899.phtml Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/3j86i2/happy_to_confirm_our_star_wars_battlefront_beta/cun65y6?context=3

  20. in my honest opinion it looks like a Battlefield 3/4 skin looks unbalanced as fuck but what do you guys think?
  21. http://kotaku.com/ea-shuts-down-simcity-developer-maxis-1689454903 Yep. EA does it again. Worst company ever now decides to shut down a company that gave us a really interesting franchise but to be fair, after the disaster that was Sim City in 2013 plus the meddling that occurred during Spore, it was inevitable. But yes, it's a sad day indeed. Long live Maxis.
  22. Hello, this may be old news but it strikes close to home for me because I absolutely loved PopCap, so I'm going to run you through a timeline of events leading up to PopCaps denial, the creators of such great casual games, here's a few you might recognize. These are some popular titles that PopCap had to offer. I'm sure if you've played any of these you can attest to the amount of sheer fun and hours of gameplay these contained. And then EA showed up. In summer of 2011 EA bought out PopCap for 1.3 BILLION dollars. Link to the artical on it here. http://techcrunch.com/2011/07/12/confirmed-ea-buys-popcap-games-for-750-million-plus-earn-out/ EA CEO states “PopCap’s great studio talent and powerful IP add to EA’s momentum and accelerate our drive towards a $1 billion digital business. EA’s global studio and publishing network will help PopCap rapidly expand their business to more digital devices, more countries, and more channels.” ^This right here? It's basically saying "We're willing to pay out the ASS for us to get our hands on the IP's that PopCap has to offer, and oh hoh hoh did they MILK it. Now, I don't know about any of these other games, but Plants Vs. Zombies was squeezed of it's monetary value. I'm talking Sequels, Toys, Shirts, pretty much whatever merchandise you wanted, and when I went to take my baby sister to a Chuck E. Cheese type restaurant (Safari Sam's), what did I see there? I'm laughing as I type this, but no joke, I saw one of these. Yeah, seriously. Disclaimer, this photo was taken off the internet, not an exact picture of the one I saw, but they are practically identicular. I would tell you my opinions on the actual games they made as sequels, but that would take a really long time, involve a lot of anger, and lose the "professional" side on behalf of AJSA. Short version: They suck. Plants Vs. Zombies IP slapped on = sells like hotcakes. So how did all of this turn out on PopCaps side? Badly. Very badly. In fact, people were literally being held up like puppets by Corporate Commander, with the goodness of their LIVES threatened. Don't believe me? http://goo.gl/QVC6hU http://goo.gl/p5ELOZ For those of you who didn't click on that, EA has shut down branches of PopCap in several areas. Now, for the latter, the CEO of PopCap (John Vechey) claims that EA had nothing to do with jobs in Seattle being lost. "The founders, CEO, and executives who were in charge of PopCap still are. The decision to reorganize was 100 percent made by us, with no pressure from EA," he said on the PopCap Blog. Adding, "if we didn't have EA behind us, the cuts would have been worse." Would it have been worse, John? Now, of course I'm not going to try to disprove this, because there is no way to, but think about it. Seattle jobs were lost in August of 2012. That's over a YEAR later that PopCap was bought out by EA. Would they be in this exact same position a whole year later if they never sold out? Do you think so? I sure don't, PopCap were kings at making and pumping out a fun casual game and should have spent the last 2 years doing that. If you're still not on my side, think about this. Seeing all those games up at the top of this ungodly long post (sorry about that), would you have expected PopCap in their right mind to develope a mobile only game with shit-tons of micro transactions? Say hi to the long awaited Plants Vs Zombies sequel, which is actually still being updated today! Got to keep them paying somehow, damn they know how to milk an IP.
  23. Hello AJSA! This is my request and introduction to Battlefield 2: Project Reality! Project Reality is a realism total conversion modification for DICE's award winning Battlefield 2 based on the Refractor 2 Engine. The mod focuses on realistic combined arms warfare and teamwork within a modern or unconventional fighting force such as the Canadian Forces or Hamas! Project Reality v1.0 currently includes 40 maps, 13 unique conventional and unconventional factions, and countless amount of weapons and vehicles (I can't even remember/count). The game has Singleplayer 'Co-op' Mode, Multiplayer 'Co-op' and Competitive Multiplayer and is consistently updated by the devs (though, the 'R-DEVs' have a reputation of slow and steady progress). Anyhow, here are the Pros and Cons: Pros Extremely team oriented gameplay, perfect for the AJSA! Lots of replayablity through the many different assets and ways you can approach the objective and enemies. 100 man servers Extremely helpful and friendly players (due to small playerbase), and I'm one of them! Massive maps of up to 4x4 km combined arms maps Minimods and consistent updates! (Vietnam! Falklands! World War 2!) Mumble integration that adds local real time in-game chat, squad chat, inter-squad chat, squad-commander chat, and more. Community organized events by the various clans within Project Reality (Scenario Sundays, One Life Events, Forgotten Honour Tournaments) Community Modding and Factions! (Syrian Uprising, Private Security Contractors, etc) Cons Good amount of bugs and glitches Server stability is not too fantastic to say the least. Considerably large learning curve (good for some I suppose) Aging graphics (BF2 was released in 2005!) Lack of ingame clan support (tags allowed, however) No stat tracking outside of matches (only in games!!!) Slightly slow gameplay. Low player population during weekdays (2-3 servers populated) Videos! PR 1.0 Trailer! Montage! Pure, Raw, and Unadulterated Gameplay! (Oldied but a Goodied) That's all for now, and even if the AJSA isn't completely interested, feel free to check the mod out at realitymod.com Cheers, ShaunOTEast EDIT: Project Reality thread created in FPS Central by Teapot228, the thread will be for anyone interested in PR as a few of us will be rolling in a squad together as AJSA. The OP will be updated with information about session/training/game times and etc (THIS IS UNOFFICIAL, BUT FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN) Thread here!
  24. It's going to be long one guys so if you can't be bothered reading this image sorta sums it up. I've been thinking lately about EA and their terrible practices over the past few years and was going to say "Ok, enough is enough I'm not buying their shit anymore" but I've realised 2 things. First EA have been conducting these practices ever since they founded but it's only in more recent years that people (for the most part) have started to take notice. Lets look at this past year with games like Sim City, X Rebirth, Battlefield 4 among several others all being pushed out the door without polish, unfinished, broken and sometimes down right unplayable. But lets look back to 1996 and Magic Carpet 2 Netherworlds developed by the now legendary Bullfrog games and published by EA of course. Still one of my favourites from back in the day and a huge improvement over it's predecessor with excellent gameplay, UI and the graphics were top notch at the time. If you haven't played it before I highly recommend getting the DosBox emulator and giving it a go. There was however one problem, the game was broken ass all hell. It was pretty much impossible to get through the first 4 levels without crashing and forget about using SVGA on any level because you will crash within ten minutes. Back them I was kid who liked the game and just basically pushed through the issues and never asked why was this the case? It turns out it's because EA pushed it out for a holiday release without doing any proper testing..... Sound familiar? The second thing I realised that weather I've been subconsciously doing so or it's just a coincidence I've actually been boycotting them for a while now. I think the last EA title I bought new was Battlefield 3 and I honestly didn't really like it that much. I haven't bought any DLC for my library of EA games for well over a year either (at least not to my knowledge). I also got Need for Speed Rivals for PS4 but I Bought it used, even though it was only about 2 or 3 quid less. Another thing that I suspect although can't confirm is that EA were one of, if not the leading force behind that DRM bullshit that Microsoft and Sony where going to implement on the Next Gen systems (and before Sony fans start flaming me it is the truth, Shuhei Yoshida admitted it to a Japanese magazine himself here's the article http://www.tomshardware.com/news/DRM-Xbox-One-PlayStation-4-Shuhei-Yoshida-Hiroshi-Kawano,23292.html). The reason why I think this is because of Nintendo and the WiiU, I want you keep in mind as you read this the fact that the WiiU is the only 8th gen platform that never had these restrictions in the place. EA have pulled support form the platform, this has been officially attributed to poor sales and the fact that the WiiU uses Power PC architecture rather than the more industry standard X86 making it a pain in the ass for third parties. Whilst I do believe there is substantial truth to this the fact that is EA have been so vocal about the WiiU at times even abrasively calling it crap, here's the article http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/05/17/ea-senior-engineer-the-wii-u-is-crap. lets look at Fifa 14, it is released on Windows PC, PS4, XBox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PSVita, Nintendo 3DS, IOS, Android, PSP, Wii and even PS2 but not WiiU. They can release the game on portable devices, last gen systems Nintendo's previous iteration and even a dead 6th gen console but not the WiiU? There is no way this is a coincidence EA dropped their support at least partly because of Nintendo's refusal to go along with DRM, and that's why I believe that they are the main architects of it putting pressure on Sony and Microsoft. Also remember how they announced they were dropping online passes (which turned to be lie) just before these systems were revealed, again not a coincidence. There are some up and coming EA games I want like Mirrors Edge 2 but won't be buying them new, even if I have wait a few days or even weeks. As I'm sure you are aware there is so much more wrong with this company, Error 37, pay to win DLC on retail games, removal of local play on their racing franchises, I could go on forever but I think it's time to make my declaration. I do now officially boycott Electronic Arts LTD until I see evidence of substantial improvements in their products, customer service and business practices. Thanks for taking the time to read and let me know if you intend to do the same thing.
  25. http://www.nowgamer.com/news/2532162/you_wont_believe_how_much_ea_makes_from_dlc.html This news sickens the fuck out of me, after EA gone from an angel to a greedy satanist since 2009, EA managed to make shitty nonsense DLC for any other games. The most money they made from a DLC is the Battlefield 3 and 4 map packs which is equally expensive to Call of Duty's shitty map packs that everyone didn't buy. We need you guys on this army to stop supporting or trust EA into buying these DLC and Games, although it's Battlefield because BF is now becoming like Call of Duty since BF4 that is a rehashed BF3 with incomplete and buggy multiplayer that EA cracked a whip on DICE to for them to release the game than ironing most of the bugs before release. Spread the word!!
