Superman Returns: What went wrong Why the future of Deus Ex lies with its past Remembering From Software's Forgotten Mech Classic, 'Chromehounds' In Praise of Video Gaming’s Old Dalliance with Distance Fog Watching Someone Else Play Resident Evil 7 On YouTube: The Kotaku Review Related to this article Perpetually offended "journalist" trying to find things to be mad about This started off as amusing to me since it's a guy who does nothing but write hit pieces complaining about articles or people posting things that he clearly didn't read, didn't or pretends not to understand, or in a recent case was two years old. It ended up getting funnier as people told him the article was clearly about the watching of Let's Plays with some joke content thrown in, causing him to call their arguments autistic and then leading him to lie about the LPer not having his content linked in Kotaku's article (checking the article above will see the Youtuber mentioned by name multiple times, his profile linked with his name, and his video linked, giving him views and putting readers one click away from being on the upload on his page). Seeing that he has so many followers, a dedicated site to hosting his whining, was a former editor of Gameranx, and has so many people positively sharing this blatant lie as if it were true, it does serve as a good reminder to actually look into random criticism and memes against gaming websites and personalities. Even more so when there are so many websites and Youtubers trying to make a living off of manufacturing outrage or producing angry reaction videos/articles. One obvious example frequently linked for years is an image complaining about IGN reviews with brief sections taken from the final score with no context, with the attempt being to make it look like the writers is complaining about things like a Pokemon game having water in it when that actually refers to content and balance issues in the game. Moral is it's good to actually read things, better to attempt to understand them, and if you're one of the worst writers in an industry and have multiple journalists and developers in that industry referring to you as a constant source of embarrassment, you probably shouldn't attempt to complain about one of the best. Meanwhile the Let's Player and his fans, who Ian tried to make it look like he was angry for, had this response to Kotaku's article. Christopher makes some pretty good XCOM 2 let's plays that I've watched over the last year and is currently trying out the Long War 2 mod if you want to see how that plays. 4. GameFront is Closing Down April 30, 2016 Gamefront is owned by Defy Media which has recently been shutting down or laying off staff at other game related websites they own, such as GameTrailers and The Escapist. Mod DB users are attempting to download and save the mods that might otherwise be lost with the closure of GameFront, which was written about in an article, "Help save 17 years of PC game modding history". The possible loss of these mods again shows the importance of preserving game history with safe and easily accessible archiving practices. 5. Yeah, umm wtf? What kind of stupid did they eat for breakfast to come up with a garbage idea like this? "Hey, lets switch from games, the product that made up rich and popular, and go to phones. 6. If you cant login right now then you must know that you have to click your preferred payment You may have played the 5days early access but the real game code is in the box. And if you dont have the game registration code that you can get from the box.. you wont be able to update your preferred subscription... how do i know? i am doing it right now lol.. i was testing if what another guildy told me was true.. that if you have the 5days early access you own the game already and you just have to click your preferred subscription however it was not the case right now. You must register your game with a game registration code from the box. Theres 3 codes on the box Game registration code, Imperial edition code, Explorers pack code. Note: I also think the game registration code is also your 30day time Hope I am mistaken and hope you guys can get past this like call support Good luck guys Edit (more notes): turns out i wasnt mistaken or i am now 99% sure When you redeem your IMPERIAL or EXPRLORERS CODE, it wont work, it says you need to have the game (thus have to have the registration code) When you redeem your REGISTRATION CODE, on the other hand it says you have only the standard edition (thus you have the imperial code on your box) You can still play your imperial or create one despite not inserting the imperial code(prolly the only thing the code has is the crab and the proof that you are an imperial edition owner)
  7. What sort of opinions does the AJSA have about Gamestop, especially personal experience? For myself, I never really had any issues with the store near me with the sole exception that it only has about a small rack for PC games. It used to be a full small rack but only one side has PC games, the rest of the store is console games, guides and hardware. Not the store for me if I want something, I'll go to my local Play N Trade instead because they also specialize in older console systems as old as the Atari 2600 as well as modern systems and the employees don't have that "corporate" vibe that Gamestop has.
  8. Anyone here work in the Game Industry? You don't have to share any details if you are not comfortable and you don't have to be a Producer or Executive at some big publisher to work in the Game Industry. Maybe you work at Game Stop? Or the Electronics Department in Target? Perhaps you work an Independent? Or Best Buy? Amazon? I work for a Distributor myself. I do Sales. So what do you guys do? Anyone else work in distribution?
