McSwiz posted a topic in ArchivesSince you can see people's Steam, Xbox, Playstation and EA account names I think Angry Joe should make an option to show your Nintendo ID on your profile. It would boost the nintendo community on here loads because you can see someone's ID on their profile and add them much easier. Who agrees with me?
Has anyone heard anything about id software and future games? The last game that they put out "Rage" was a decent game, but to me it felt like the building the developers worked in sank into a sink hole and killed everyone inside half way through.. so some half-ass developer came in and boxed up what "id" had made up until that point and then shipped that out. Its pretty sad that a company who made Quake managed to do so little on this game, and then bragged about it. I know the game has been out and it's old at this point, but damn.. I hope every game developer doesn't end up like this.. You may have some legends out there.. but you are only as good as your last game.. good luck on your paychecks

Shagger posted a topic in General DiscussionIt's kind of the end of an era really, but I'm sure we've seen the last of him and this departure seem amicable and was a long time coming. I think the angry army would wish him and id sofware the best. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/11/22/doom-creator-john-carmack-officially-leaves-id-software
So I've noticed throughout the forum that there are some of you who misunderstand what a Steam ID is, and that's okay. I am here to help, and to get you on the right track. I will give you two ways of doing this, the long way and the short way. Long Way: For the long way you will need a Valve game to do this. What you do is start up Steam and log in, then run a Valve game(Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Garry's Mod, etc.). After you load up the game, go into a server, any server will do (Preferably an empty one or a local server .). Then'll you bring up the console by pressing the '`' key. (Now if a window doesn't come up that means you do not have the console enabled, so what you'll have to do is hit the escape key, go to options, then go to key bindings, once you're there look at the bottom and click the button that says advanced. A little window will open and then you will check a box that says, "Enable Developer Console." Click okay on that little window, then click apply at the bottom.) Now that the console is up, type in 'status' and hit enter. Look for your name and you should look for something like this, 'STEAM_0:1:XXXXXXX.' There you have it, that's your Steam ID. Short Way: Just go to this link http://steamidfinder.com/ and follow the directions provided there. -Thank you Cereal Killer for reminding me about using a local server as well.
