I downloaded the demo to give it and the Kinect a try, its 1 race on a jet ski but I can confirm the KINECT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY during race and in my shoe box of a room as well! Give it a try see what you think, I would like to see how it will handle 2 people, this game is now on my to get list.
Hello to All, I just finished watching Joe testing out the game Fighter Within for the Xbox 1 with the ever so promising Kinect 2, and man is it me or is the new kinect going to be a total fail like the previous version. Now I know Joe has only tested this one game, however just by looking at the footage I can already see to my eyes anyway that there has not been a lick of improvement. I mean when you look at the movement that Joe was doing compared to the on-screen it's night and day. I'm not going to hate on Xbox, I have a PS4 but I'm glad that I went for the PS4. Now this doesn't mean that I'm all for Sony, no. I have an xbox 360, PS3, and late consoles and also a PC user... I'm really thinking about getting an Xbone later on but after seeing this I wonder if you can get the Xbone without the Kinect. So really I would just like to have some feedback.. Those of you that have the Xbone, is the Kinect really worth having at all.?? I would get an xbox only if you can buy it without the kinect, because there are some games I would like to try and have that are exclusive to Xbox. Anyhow would to hear from some of you guys Chris
Back in June, I watched the E3 2013 press conferences from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. I went into them with an unbiased, open mind. Sony's press conference was just OK. A couple of games that made me want to get a PlayStation 4 are Infamous: Second Son and The Order: 1886. Nintendo's E3 Direct left me anticipated for the new Smash Bros., Pokemon X and Y, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. But I think Microsoft's press conference was easily the best out of the 3. I've been highly anticipating the Xbox One since then. The reason why is because Microsoft's lineup of games were a lot more appealing to me than Sony's with the PlayStation 4. So I pre-ordered the Day One Edition of the console at my local GameStop in the mall for 100 dollars. On November 21st, I attended the Xbox One launch event there and it was worth the wait. I was waiting in line and talking to some pretty good people. We discussed our thoughts on the PS4 and Xbox One, the employees there were wearing some pretty awesome Xbox swag, and when I got handed out my console, I thought to myself. Wow, my life has changed forever. My first launch for a game console and I'm holding it in my hands! So I started unboxing the console, hooked it up and I started to play Ryse and Dead Rising 3. I downloaded the Ultra Edition of Killer Instinct along with the extra content and the original KI arcade game and Crimson Dragon. Here are my thoughts on the games I got for the console so far. Ryse: Son of Rome was a pretty decent 9-10 hour campaign and it's easily one of the most beautiful looking games I've ever played. The combat can get repetitive but it's not bad. It reminds of The Lord of the Rings in a way. Some people did say that the game is a God of War clone. Being that I haven't played any God of War games, I wouldn't say that. It's not even close. The executions were pretty well handled but they could have been so much more when you have a higher combo. The story was pretty good but the gods could have been explored more. The one part that pissed me off the most was fighting against Commodus. He was pretty cheap. The only way I had to get through to him and his copies are when I have to unleash my god powers and hack the living crap out of them. I also tried playing it online with MorphBox and there is only one time where the game glitched on us. The enemies weren't spawning and it felt empty so we tried it again and it didn't bother us after that. It was pretty good. Will the game age? Maybe. Hopefully, Crytek and Microsoft will make a sequel to this and improve the combat and the characters. I give the game a 7.5/10. Now onto Dead Rising 3. The game is a great open-world experience (and to add to that, no loading times). I love the side missions, the humor was pretty good, and the story was pretty serious. When it comes to the weapons and vehicles, there is a great variety in them especially when you find blueprints to certain combo weapons. The Sledge Saw, the Super Massager, the Mini Chainsaws, Electric Crusher, and Fire Reaper are so far easily some of the best combo weapons in the game. I know I collected a lot more blueprints but I just thought I could name a few. I even enjoyed the Psycho missions. There was a couple that MorphBox and I went through. The Gluttony battle had a lady that was so damn fat she makes Honey Boo Boo's mom look thin and it was pretty disgusting but enjoyable. There was also one where we had to fight a gimp dude with a lust cannon and to fit that scene, we wore gimp costumes as a joke. It was priceless. And as a reward, we both got the lust cannon. I love the challenges like when you have to kill zombies with a combo vehicle like the Turret Rig or the Rollerhawg. I have yet to finish the story mode but I can't wait to unlock Mega Man X's costume and Mega Buster. I give the game an enthusiastic 8.5/10. Now we got Killer Instinct. For someone who has not played any of the previous games in the franchise, I went into this one with an open mind as well. I can easily say this is actually one of the best fighting games I've ever played. Is it better than Mortal Kombat from 2011? No, but it comes so damn close. An issue that I have with the game is that it doesn't have a story mode or an arcade mode. When it comes to the characters and their stories, you will probably not be familiar with what they bring up. An example of this is whenever you win with Orchid, she will bring up something called UltraTech. What is that actually? If you're looking for something challenging, there's survival mode. Sure the exact same characters repeat but there's going to be more characters coming in the roster. Spinal is coming in January and Fulgore will come in March followed by a second season of DLC for the game. The characters fight pretty smoothly and have a great variety in the way they fight. Examples being Sabrewulf for when you build up combos with his mid attacks and Glacius when you build up combos in long range distances. I love playing as Orchid. Hell, I love the announcer for the game. He's just badass by saying, "C-c-c-combo Breaker!" "C-c-counter breaker!" and "ULTRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" That guy sounds excited whenever you execute those moves! I also love the soundtrack. My favorites are the main theme, Jago's theme, and Orchid's theme. They sound fucking awesome! The combat for when you build up high rank combos are pretty damn impressive and the finishers are amazing. The only time I ever got an Ultra combo was on accident and it was pretty short-lived being that it was 8 hits long and I didn't even know it. You can customize the characters you have in the roster but one way they can improve is to customize your own fighter like Soul Calibur IV and V. Overall, it's a great fighting game. The only recommendation I can give is to purchase the Ultra Edition, which lets you get all of the characters in the roster, the Classic KI arcade game is also available in this edition, all customization parts, and the Classic KI costumes post-launch. Yeah, there's also another issue with the game. The free to play version sucks! I mean it's free but you get Jago as the only character and they let you purchase the other characters? That's ridiculous! Just stick with the Ultra Edition. It's gives you more value. I give this game an 8.5/10! Now for Crimson Dragon. It's a fun rail shooter. Reminds of Star Fox and How to Train Your Dragon but they allow you to play as different dragons, you get to level them up, and take care of them. The missions are pretty challenging but when you have a wingmate and mastered special attacks you'll breeze through them fine. It looks like something that they should have put on the 360 but it was a good game anyway. Glad I have it. I give it a high 7/10. As for the new Kinect, I thought it improved on the beta Kinect on the 360 in every way. The voice commands are very responsive, the camera is also responsive for every time you sign in, it will recognize you. That is pretty impressive. The Kinect responds more to my body motions pretty well. And I've played Xbox Fitness and how it works. I have yet to use the TV feature on my Xbox One but I've heard it's awesome. One thing I do like about the console is the multi-tasking feature. After all it is called the Xbox One. It's fantastic. You can play your games for one but you can also switch to watching TV or watching a movie on DVD or Blu-Ray. And to GameSpot, don't fucking lie! You can watch your Blu-Rays for free!!! You just have to download the app! If you're going to bitch about that, then don't bitch about a lie! As for the new controller, take the perfect controller on the 360 and make it better! The controller can interact with the Kinect for movement. Like when you're playing Dead Rising 3, whenever you get caught by a zombie, you can literally push them off with it. And one thing I do love about the controller is the impulse triggers. The triggers vibrate for when you press them like when you're playing Ryse and you're at a part where you throw your javelins at enemy soldiers. I'm looking forward to what they will do for shooter games. Can't wait for Titanfall and the new Halo by the way. Overall, the Xbox One succeeds the 360 in every aspect. It has games that I and everyone else want to play, the new features are awesome, and in terms of exclusives I'm anticipating Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5, Titanfall, Project: Spark, and Quantum Break. And for multi-platform games, I'm looking forward to getting Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Kingdom Hearts III, Star Wars: Battlefront, Final Fantasy XV, Watch Dogs, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, The Evil Within, Thief, Strider, The Elder Scrolls Online, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, Mighty No. 9, oh god, *sobbing with joy* so many good games!!!!! Microsoft, you've really outdone yourselves. You're gonna make me broke! So to everyone, for this generation of gaming I want to hear no bitching! Microsoft and Sony have delivered!!! With that being said, if you're into the 360 and prefer Microsoft more than Sony and Nintendo, this console is for you. It's definitely worth your time and money. Hell, it already sold 2 million units in 18 days! A lot of stores can't even keep with the orders! The Xbox One gets the prestigious award of a high 8/10!!!
AA-assassin posted a topic in Last Genswhat is the best/worst game you have ever played and why?
Now I'd think this is just a topic for Xbox players in general, but what are everyone's thoughts on the Xbox Kinect? Personally I don't have many gripes with it, but then again I have never owned one. I know Angry Joe does have a lot of issues with it especially it basically killed Steel Battalion, personally I think they should have just kept it in development longer to sort out some major bugs with it. Thoughts?
One thing that you can't ignore with the upcoming release of the Xbox One is the required implementation of Kinect. Now of course they claim that its much improved, it wouldn't be right smart of them to flat out say it's not that great regardless of if it is or not . So I ask you, the angry army, your opinions on this device. I have always been a firm believer in the IDEA behind kinect. I mean, in what universe is being able to control a video game character with your hands with 1:1 accuracy NOT amazingly cool? I use to have dreams of sword combat games where you are free to have complete control over your weapon using your hands. But the fact of it is, the most useful features of the original kinect could have been done using the mic on your headset. Do you think they will come closer to reaching their goal this time around? Or do you expect a more "Skyrim voice-command" style of implementation?
