  1. Hi Guys so I started streaming on Mixer couple days ago and would love some feedback from more experienced people. I have a few viewers which is more than I expected but any help from guys in the know would be great. I have been full of cold last couple days and had some initial teething problems with my headset (hyperx cloud 2 cant adjust volume in windows) so I would like to know what to focus on improving first. channel = https://mixer.com/Chaz_Pounder Vods have been enabled since I started so you can see them on the channel Thanks in advance all Cheers
  2. Feedback for streamers, new and old. Members of the AJSA or otherwise. Hello AJSA, It has been a while since my last post here. I hope everyone is doing well. I thought that this may be a good thread to have on the AJSA forum. ---------- While people can provide tips and advice in a general manner regarding the improvement of one's stream, both in terms of hardware and software, and also concerning interaction with your audience, it would seem that an assessment of some or all of these matters relative to one's own stream could be somewhat difficult. In this case, as it is in many other instances, direct feedback from outside sources can be incredibly useful when attempting to improve. Note - This is not to be a place for the purpose of advertising or getting viewers. -If you want to get involved in streaming with the AJSA, perhaps stream to the Angry Joe Show Army community on Twitch, or consider submitting an application to join the stream team (see other pages in the forum for information about this). - This is meant to be a thread where people can come to discuss streams and their own ideas about what makes for a good stream. This is also intended to help get new streamers started, a place where they can ask questions, and perhaps politely ask people to watch their streams (live or past) for a few minutes to get feedback. If you post a link to your twitch account, or other streaming site, do so only for the purpose of getting specific feedback regarding your streams and ways to improve. ---------- On that note, I recently started myself on Twitch. While I can not say much about what makes a good stream due to the fact that I started around 2 months ago at the time of this post, I was sent a message by a bigger streamer than myself that I found to be quite helpful. In the message were 2 comments that really stood out, and I will present you with these statements as well. Maybe you might find these helpful, as I did, although I shall leave interpretation up to the reader. "If you want a practical way of thinking about streaming, consider this: imagine it is the 90's again, think of your audience as the people sitting next to you on the couch, playing the game with you" "If you want to take a philosophical approach, I say adopt this attitude: Laissez-Faire (French - approximately translates to "Let (people) do (as they choose)" or "Let it be"). ---------- After realising how helpful feedback and comments like the above can be, If anyone is willing, I would like to request they take a look at some of my past streams and critique (message privately through this site or on Twitch) https://www.twitch.tv/tidebornassassin Thank you And remember - Never Give Up, Never Surrender, Victory or Death! All the best AJSA Tide out
  3. Hi there! I've been streaming for about a year and a half, and have an awesome community. We do Multiplayer Monday every Monday, where I play games with my viewers and followers. I also have playthrough weeks, where I play single player games. For example, I'm currently playing through Mass Effect 3. What I am looking for are ways to get my community involved whenever I am playing a single player game (voting on major decisions, etc.). I was wondering what my fellow Twitch streamers do when it comes to getting their communities involved during single player games. Thank you!
  4. I have an windows 10 asus gaming laptop with amd a10,10 compute cores,4cpu+6gpu,radeon grahpics, and quadcore x4. Ill try to test my settings. I stream via OBS studio since its less demanding than classic,I stream console games and have activate twitch alerts, overlays, cam and elgato hd as sources but when i try to stream via obs immediately a few seconds or minutes later i get an error msg on the bottom of obs saying" encoding overloaded, consider turning down video settings or use a faster encoding preset.Cause when this happens my video is not "in sync with the games audio and on twitch the stream stutters/ moves in slow motion while you hear the game audio do that as well. Output settings. 1. Output mode: simpel. 2.Bitrate for video: 2500. 3. bitrate for audio: 160. 4. the box to activate advanced encoder settings is filled in 5. encoder pre-setting(higher=less CPU) is at: VERY FAST. 6. settings for custom encoder is empty. 7.Recording quality: same as stream. 8.recording format: mp4(used to be at flv). Video settings: Base(canvas) resolution: 1920x1080. Output(scaled)resolution: 1280x720. downscalefilter:bitcubic(sharpened scaling,16 samples).Ordinary framerate values: 30 Any step by step how to fix this? here are links to my twitch, you can clearly see that my video is not in sync with audio i,e the video moves in slow motion and audio does not play properly normal: https://www.twitch.tv/samshepardgaming/v/60573812
  5. I was able to get an early copy of Slain! think Castlevania or Altered Beasts. If you guys and gals want to check in and see what's what, stop by! https://www.twitch.tv/wade_d_mcginnis
  6. Hi guys In here i will list some general tips to stream related things (this means stuff that in MY opinion is good), i will also give a description to WHY i believe its a good advice. so let´s start with the list: (not in any specific order) 1. Always talk! if u have no viewers while streaming? say what you are thinking! (people watch streamers for the gameplay AND commenting, if they just want the gameplay, they will just play the game on their own) 2. Have a face cam while streaming (It helps the viewer to relate to your stream. And have a facecam there, will show your reactions to the game and add value to your stream) 3. Make highlights and don´t make them to long (You can get new followers even when you are offline, the first thing they check will be your highlights. But DON`T make them to long, personally i try to make them under 3 min, i don´t want them to feel like they are wasting their time watching to long clips) 4. Personalize your stream profile by adding text and artwork, but don´t overdo it with text. keep it simple. (That will tell people a bit more about you and your stream, and i feel TOO much text will make it feel to much of a hassle to read) 5. Have VOD´s ON! (If you are applying for a team/twitch partnership, they/we NEED to see your previous stream to be able to determine if you are a good fit for the team/partnership) 6. Use Ankhbot as your bot. (Its simply the best bot i´v used out there, its free, and does everything Moobot/Nightboot and Deepbot does combined... and its free!) 7. Make a schedule that show your follower when you stream! (This gives your follower something of a general idea of when you stream, it don´t have to be an EXACT schedule, but give them some kind of indication of when you usually stream) 8. Make a twitter account and use it! (Announce your next stream and events, reply to followers who have question. That way your followers will have more information, and you will engage them more) 9. DON`T start streaming with to high expectations. (if you start streaming to get donations and become partnered, you starting for the wrong reasons. Getting followers will usually take time, a lot of people will celebrate their 100th follower 1 year after starting to stream, getting famous on twitch over a week never happens) 10. If you play games WITH your viewers and use Skype, set up a PROXY server. (Some people target random streamers to DDOS, and getting your IP adress from Skype is super easy, setting up proxy will help you in protecting your IP adress) 11. Have one game you play regularly if you are a diversity streamer. (This helps new streamer to build a follower base that can expect more of that one game they really enjoy) 12. Try to get in contact with other streamers to do co-streams. (this will increase your exposure and u might get followers who would never have seen you otherwise) 13. Don´t let trolls and other disrespectful viewers get to you. (It´s the internet after all, EVERYONE will be up against trolls and immature viewers who will threat to DDOS you every once and again. Just insta ban them and show them that you don´t care, they are LOOKING for a reaction, don´t give them one) 14. Play game YOU enjoy! (When you play a game you hate viewers WILL notice that you aren´t as engaging as you usually are etc, play a game that you have fun playing! it will show in the way you act and respond to the game, and you will have a happier time streaming) 15. When modding a viewer take one that have been in there for some time, and make a Skype group for your mods! (People will always jump in and ask to be a mod just for the sake of having that shield. make sure you add people YOU would like from the beginning. And have that Skype group so you can talk to your mods when you arent streaming, and THEY can talk to each other WHILE you are streaming. some information you don´t want your viewers to see, Skype will make sure that only the people you/the mods want, will see that information) Thanks for reading! and i hope this will help some new aspiring streamers, as i said before, these are MY suggestions, and this is stuff that have worked for me. I will be updating this post as time goes on! and as always! if you have any questions don´t hesitate to ask me!

  8. Starting out in the streaming scene, doing some streaming with a buddy. Would mean a lot if some of the AJSA dropped by to give some pointers. http://www.twitch.tv/demonbane775 Got TwitchAlerts and Moobot set up, just comes down to getting the rest of the stuff all sorted out, like sound equipment and such.
  9. Hey guys I go my elgato hd yesterday and today I tried streaming from twitch app on my xbox. Upon viewing the video on my laptop I did not see any lag or buffering and I recorded in 720 because my bandwidth is only 10mbps. Feel free to check it out cause I play team actions sack and did really well. Feel free to follow me for any future streams. I may post on my activity feed on xbox/ here in the forums that i am starting to stream on my xbox and may need test viewers to tell me how well they can watch the video. Here is the link to the video and for some reason the combat sounds is muted from when you choose your loadout up until 0.41 minutes in the video, what? One things i am wondering is how do you save your broadcast permanently cause I saved my first stream as a highlight? http://www.twitch.tv/samshepardgaming/v/11085020
  10. Hi guys! This is a "guide" on how to succeed on twitch made by "The Geeky Antics". They go over basically everything a new streamer need to know (as well as some tips for veteran streamers). They go over everything from what twitch looks for in partnership, to tips on how NEW streamers might want to act while streaming. This article is mainly focused on new streamers or people who are thinking about starting streaming. But even if you are a veteran streamer they take up a lot of good points. And i HIGHLY recommend all our team members (Or anyone interested in streaming) to read this: https://geekyantics.wordpress.com/2014/05/28/get-more-viewers-and-followers-on-twitch/
  11. I will be streaming this Tuesday at 5pm Central standard time and will stream 1 of 5 games depending on what people here would like. XCOM:enemy within (long war mod), pillars of eternity, Gal civ 3, Civ 5 BNW (possibly a modded faction) or some War Thunder shenanigans with some AJSA War Thunder members. If no votes I'll just pick one at random. Hope to see you guys there
  12. Hey guys and gals! James here aka Wade D McGinnis and I need a little help. Actually a lot of help if anyone with the knowledge can help! Here is what I am trying to do. I need to take my PS4, Wii U, PS3 and push the audio through my computer to show up on OBS (I can do that normally but I am looking at next level stuff that I lack the technically know how and general search skills)! At the same time I need to either be able to talk to friends on the PS4 or on skype while still having the stream viewers hear me. To add an extra hurdle, I need to be able to hear Twitch Alerts (gives me audio queues when people follow or donate) all at the same time. Finally, I know at this point you are like dude....stop! However I need to be able to adjust the volume of the game, the skype call, and the microphone I am using. I was told that a MixAmp or Channel Mixer would get me these results however I cannot find a tutorial for how to set this up. I have seen a number of other Twitch streamers having similar setups, so I am thinking it is possible just not sure where to start or how to setup. If you happen to know or can send me to a video guide that would be amazing! Thank you!
  13. The community events on Steam should be streamed. I'm not sure about other people but I would really like to watch them. I'm new to computer gaming and do not have the right gaming set up (Mic, Good computer) to be able to join in. So I feel a little left out when the notice pops up and I can't join in. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would watch these events if they were streamed. If i'm not the only one please comment and maybe in the future they will be.

  18. Do you think streamers and YouTubers owe revenue to the game developers? Or is this Free advertisement for them? Previous Episode: Comment, discuss, video response, we will talk about it... next time. Don't forget you can get your intro here on The Viewer by sending me a video response on YouTube! 19. So I have been seeing a number of streams with death counters and I have spent the past four days trying to figure out how they made them or where they downloaded the mod for twitch/xsplit. Anyone have any clue how I might go about this?
  20. I typically stream every Saturday, and id like to know if it is possible to have some kind of promotion through the AJSA so i could start generating more viewers. I tend to play Spelunky & League of legends. I'm pretty good at what i play; and i would like to know what the requirements are for my stream to be up. I know websites like Solomid.net have a system where if you have 50 concurrent viewers that you will be added to their list. But seeing as how the AJSA (as far as ive seen) doesn't have any pre-requisites to become a listed streamer, other then an officer/Joe's approval. If we could open up our stream list and get more AJSA members streaming, i see it being a really good promotional idea going in favor of the AJSA. http://www.twitch.tv/souprmarin3 - Gavin
  21. hey AJSA, i am a streamer and have currently just received a new headset, the razer kraken 7.1 surround sound pro edition and am having some issues using it with OBS(open broadcaster software) issue one my microphone sounds a little crackly issue two when i play music i can hear it through my headset but on the stream it is not going through so my viewers cant listen to what i am listening to.
  22. http://www.ongamers.com/articles/riot-season-4-lcs-contracts-stipulate-players-cannot-stream-dota-2-blizzard-games/1100-261/ Documents obtained by onGamers reveal that players competing in Season 4 of the LCS may not stream or advertise a slew of other games including Dota 2, StarCraft 2, Hearthstone, World of WarCraft, and World of Tanks. Update, 11:20AM PST: onGamers has confirmed with the team representatives that LCS players are disallowed from streaming the games listed below outright, not just when adjacent to a League of Legends stream. Under Section 3 Rule 4 of the new contract handling 'Non-League Events and Streaming', it states that "... the [LCS] Team shall ensure that, during the Term of this Agreement, its Team Members do not publicly stream gameplay of the titles set forth on Exhibit B". Exhibit B states "the specific restrictions on streaming are set forth in the Sponsorship and Streaming Restricted List, as updated by the League from time to time", which is the document listed below. Anyone see this is a massive dick move by Riot Games to both the players playing and fans? Update 12/7/13: Riot apparently has reversed this policy (Off topic, I tried adding this link like 4 times in full edit mode, greeted with the AJSA 404 page after hitting submit)
  23. Ok, so i dont know how many of you watched AJ's stream last night, but if you did you would knew that he got really pissed off at one point at what people were writing in the chat and said "Im never streaming gameplay again btw". Here is the link to when it happens: http://www.twitch.tv/m/308835 Now lemme give you a bit of backstory. So Joe was really tired, the game was at a really repetitive scene, and he died couple of times and seemed abit upset. At some point Joe meleed a explosive spider out of boredom at this smartass from the chat says something like : he says he knows so much about the game and he just meleed an explosive spider... Of course that pissed off Joe so he tells the guy hes being a smartass and that they should stop, after which some more trolls start saying: "Unfair review incoming". Now that completely pissed Joe off after which he said that hes not gonna stream gameplay again. After that Joe explains how he cant ignore the trolls and he cares about what everyone thinks and he cant shut himself off for the negative comments. Link: http://www.twitch.tv/m/308872 And I respect that, the man loves his followers and cares about them, however, Joe if you are reading this lemme tell you something right now, ive seen many streams, for all sorts of games, and not matter the game, be it LoL, WoW, Dota, Hearthstone or any other singleplayer game, EVERY SINGLE ONE has the same problem. I swear, there is NO STREAM that doesnt have stupid people bitching about stupid stuff, that doesnt have trolls wanting to ruin the fun. And since you cant ignore them i have a suggestion. Now, i dont know how many mods you currently have on twitch, but it definitely isnt enough. What you need is atleast 2 or more mods always online when u are streaming. And these mods cant be afraid of banning people. I recommend starting with 500 second bans if somebody says something stupid, followed with a much longer ban, and than if he still talks shit permament ban. Just wanted to say, streaming is a great way to connect with your army man, and it would be stupid to stop it just because of some minor problems that can be solved simply with more mods in your chat. And even tho we did run into some problems with the haters, and you were super tired, I still had tons of fun watching your stream and I sure hope you never stop streaming, and actually start doing it more often, cuz you are super fun to watch. Sorry for the long post, but i just had to say this!
