  1. Made a youtube vid about base locations in subnautica for those who play subnautica. Link:Top 5 base locations in subnautica
  2. This is my personal, youtube-fodder-game free list of my top 5 indie games of this year. These are games that I enjoyed the most in 2014, but remember, this is my personal opinion. I don't represent anyone but myself in this list. Also, I haven't played that many games this year, so my opinion shouldn't be taken too strongly. All of these games can be found on the Steam Store. Honorable Mentions Lifeless Planet - A solid 3d platformer with nice looking visuals and fun puzzles, but unfortunately very linear. Too bad, since this game would be perfect for exploration. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter - Only played this once at a friend's house, but the gameplay is very fun and the graphics are beautiful. Transistor - Played this a couple times at said friend's house, and is a blast. The art style looks great and the beat-em-up combat is in depth and makes you feel like a badass. 5. Dungeon of the Endless This is a very fun, procedurally generated top down roguelike. The gameplay is great. The combat is classic and fun, but the game is also obviously beautiful. The great art style of detailed pixel graphics with smooth looking animations made it easy for me to play for hours. Definitely pick this one up. 8.7/10 4. Secrets of Raetikon Technically, this early access game was released in 2013, but got its Steam wings in February. I acquired the game with the steam key that eventually came with my humble order about a year ago. The art style is fantastically amazing and so original. The flying mechanics feel great, the puzzles are challenging and although there isn't a combat system, you can ingeniously use the grabbing mechanic and the dangerous environment elements to make the bad birds feel pain. This game is only held back by the occasional location in which your bird gets stuck (not with bugs, SoR is surprisingly bug-free), but that is to be expected in an early access game. Add a level editor with workshop support and you have a must buy. 8.9/10 3. The Talos Principle There really isn't much to be said about this game. It's a puzzle game, not unlike portal, with some cool exploration elements as well. The environments are designed well and it is overall a fun one. If you love puzzle games, this will be a great game to spend your money on. 8.9/10 2. The Deer God This game is just tremendously epic. I previously found Crescent Moon Games hard to take seriously, as they are the makers of the Ravensword games, which are basically Skyrim clones for mobile devices, but this game is just fantastic. You are a hunter who has been reincarnated into a deer because of karma. You start out as a faun, but as you grow, you hump lady deer, get into fierce battles with predatory wildlife and gain magical powers. The mechanics are solid, the platforming is great, the exploration is encouraging, and the art style is beautiful. When you start shooting fire out of your antlers, you know you've won life. 9.3/10 1. Eidolon HOLY FUCK THIS IS THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.You are a nomad in post-apocalyptic Western Washington, but thankfully there are no generic zombies to make this game suck. The place has just simply been reclaimed by nature. There are some basic survival mechanics, but they are basic as to not distract you from the real three reasons to buy this game: the visuals, the exploration and the writing. The game is absolutely beautiful. It's probably the best-looking game I've ever played. Ice Water Games took one of the most beautiful regions in the world and somehow made it even more appealing. I wish I lived there. Oh yeah, I do. Suckers! The game is also HUGE. I haven't legitimately measured it, but my estimate puts it a little bigger than GTA V, which was 49 sq. miles. Skyrim was 16. And every single inch of it is screenshot-worthy. I'm not kidding. There are also tons of lost documents to find from about 40-50 intertwining storylines. And I won't give any spoilers, but shit gets really crazy once you piece together the storylines to get the grand plot of what happened to Western Washington. So, in short, the mathematical formula for this game is basically a stripped down version of Rust + Proteus + (Gone Home x 40). Eidolon is mainly a walking simulator game, so it's not for everyone. If you are twelve years old or less, have ADD (actually, on second though an ADD person might like this game) or if you are addicted to fast-paced games, you may not enjoy this game as much. But, Eidolon is a masterpiece of both visual and literacy arts. If you like video games, you owe it to yourself to buy this game at its cheap price of $15. Eidolon is the best game I have ever played in my entire life, and if you don't own it already, your new priority in life is to buy it. 9.8/10 So that's it. I will be making a more in-depth video version of this list soon. TL;DR Honorable Mentions - Lifeless Planet, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Transistor 5. Dungeon of the Endless, 8.7/10 4. Secrets of Raetikon, 8.9/10 3. The Talos Principle, 8.9/10 2. The Deer God, 9.3/10 1. Eidolon, 9.8/10 (best game I have ever played)
  3. This was odd year for gaming, we had some amazing games come out, some crap games come out, and we had the new consoles. I've seen a lot of best and worst video and I thought I should share mine. I would like to point out that I haven't a lot of newer game this year so most will be famous game. I haven't played all the games on this list (I've watched many let's plays), so if you find a problem this this, I'm sorry. ( I haven't played two games on this list). I would love it if you suggest some games to play. So, without further wait, lets begin. 5.Pokemon X and Y. It's weird that I don't like COD and other games because they put out the same things, but I like Pokemon. Maybe it's because it doesn't come out every year, maybe it's the minor differences, or maybe it's the fact Pokemon has such a fallowing? What ever it is I find the game fun, the catching, grinding, evolving, and the Pokemon. Black and White's Pokemon were weird and not cool, but X and Y's are cool. I like all the starters and the mega evolutions are fun. I hoope they add more mega evolutions in the coming updates and games. And yes even though I'm more of a story guy and the story isn't that interesting I still had fun. 4.Europa Universalis 4. If you weren't already a fan of the paradox games you probably haven't heard of the game. While I haven't played it, I've seen many Let's Plays and such and I'm saving my money for it. Its one of the best grand strategy games and if you like the genre pick it up. 3.Grand Theft Auto 5. Yeah, you all know the others so lets get going. GTA 5 is a great game that maybe was a bit overhyped. I loved it in the first two or three weeks and after I havn't played it. I didn't like online but I like the single player and that didn't take away from it. 2. Bioshock Infinite: The world is just beautiful, with so many colors, unique landmarks, and a amazing design. It takes from the first two and takes awat the horror element in exchange for a scientific one, I guess. The combat wasn't as fun as before, but it still holds it's own. 1. The Last of Us. This game made the Playstation 3 go out with a bang. Beautiful design, amazing story, awesome combat. It's just fun all around and made me want a Playstation 3. Thanks for reading and like I said before please tell me some other games to get.
  4. SPOILERS: If you have not watched or played the following animes or games, and are planning to in the near future. IGNORE their respective section or (if you wanna be really safe) don't read this post. Final Fantasy 7 One Piece Attack on Titan Naruto Shippuden Bleach Death Note A death of a character, especially in anime, can establish so many different scenarios and change so many aspects of a story. Characters ideals, their values, their belief in both the world and themselves can be rocked in an instant. For us the viewer, we can only sit back and watch as the story plays out, powerless to do anything but hope it all works out in the end, and contemplating just how much you invested into this story. Certain death's that I watched as a gamer and a fan of anime, rocked my soul, and brought me to tears. Though I would be happy to discuss the significance and analyze the themes these deaths provoke lets just get right to the real question. WHO WOULD YOU SAVE? Name an anime or game (or even a book if you like), and Name the character you would save and a brief reason why. (One is enough, I'm just gonna give you a list) (if you got time, a top 5 would be cool ) Final Fantasy 7 Aeris (Aerith) : First death I had to deal with I think in general when it comes to life. Watching my uncle play this game I couldn't wrap my head around the idea of her being "gone forever". To my knowledge, all Cloud and the others had to do was gather the 7 dragon balls and wish her back... what about Mega Phoenix down.... shes gone.... I'm currently replaying the game since I didn't bond with the characters 120% when my uncle played. BUT REST ASSURED I WAS F*CKING INVESTED AND I WAS SAD. Attack on Titan Eren's Mother: Now I am fully aware that without Eren's mother's death, there does not exist tension, or driving force for Eren to join the recon corps. I GET IT, I GET IT. But..... when she's thanking that guy who saves Eren and Mikasa... and she's telling them to live... she ... she says ... while literally trying to stop herself..... she says......... "Don't leave me".....BROKE MY HEART. WHYYYYYYYYYY??? Knowing that she, in her final moments, had made the request to save her children without hesitation and yet was still afraid to die..... still wanted to be saved.. And that hurt me... that hurt me deep Bleach (tie) Coyote Starrk and Ichimaru Gin: Now most bleach fans probably want to save Ulquiorra. I want to save starrk (and literally as I was writing this I realized Gin died, but my mind refused to acknowledge it at first) and GIn. I assume if you're reading this you've finished bleach so you know Starrk's backstory. For me when Lilynette died (or Starrk could no longer hear or feel her). I was a bit torn up for him. I really like his character and even though he was an enemy, he clearly did not want to fight, (even though he was ranked the strongest espada and is a complete bad ass!). Now I technically didn't see him die, so here is holding out hope he's still alive....though when he lost lily.... the feels I think Gin is self-explanatory, but if you don't know, episodes b4 Gin's death we FINALLY get to see: him in real combat with his Zanpakuto, and his true reasons for joining the Soul Society/Aizen. Not only is he a badass, but he had a heart. Gin's persona is great and everytime he talks to Aizen or comments on just about anything its funny or amusing. And if that damn Hougoku wasn't ridiculous and complicated, GIN WOULD'VE KILLED AIZEN AND HE' BE THE HERO, AND... AND....... sigh.... Death Note L : This one is just a personal want. I was shell-shocked when he died and, for the next 2 to 3 episodes, I was STILL alive and would come back. To no avail. L's character was so cool and intriguing that I was disappointed to see him "lose". A necessary evil to making a DAMN GOOD anime. Naruto Shippuden Itachi Uchiha : Obvious choice. Jiraiya was close, Azuma was up there since I'm a huge fan of Shikamaru, but when it comes down to it, Itachi is one of those characters that carry an anime. He isn't the only one in this case, since there are SOOOO MANY QUALITY characters in Naruto, but he is definitely at the forefront. The story behind Itachi's death is so tragic. The moment of his death left me speechless and confused, and I rewatched it again and again to be sure I saw what I saw. YEA YEA he's reanimated right now so it takes away from the feeling of longing to see the character again, but even as a reanimated ninja, he's proving he's one of the best badass characters the Naruto universe had to offer, One Piece Portgas D. Ace: I'm not ashamed to say this. I was invested... I WAS IN TEARS. I CAME CLOSE TO BALLING MY EYE OUT WHEN IT HAPPENDED. No. NOOO! NOT ACE! WHAT? AFTER EVERYTHING WE'VE DONE! I have watched alot (almost too much but I'm not there yet) of anime in my life, but no anime has actually made me cry the way ace's death made me cry. Luffy's reaction.... everything. AND THEN THEY SHOW YOU LUFFY AND ACE"S CHILDHOOD RIGHT AFTER!!???!?!?!? ......... Needless to say that was a VERY tough arc to get through, I still can't watch or listen to the Opening song of that arc without tearing up.... :( ACE!!!!!!!!!!!! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That's my list, if I had to save just one it'd be .... Ace soo.... WHO WOULD YOU SAVE? Name an anime or game (or even a book if you like), and name the character you would save and a brief reason why.
  5. Gotta ask, what's your top 5 favorite pokemon of all time. If you could give a brief reason why, that'd be cool too. Here are mine: 5. Scyther - One of the coolest and elusive pokemon of Gen 1. His name, his look, even his outcry, in the Pokemon episodes anyway, was cool. Another bug I don't mind. And his evolved form is just as sick, if this were a top 6, Scizor would probably make the cut (no pun intended). 4. Typhlosion - In my humble opinion, I think he is the coolest 3rd evolution of all the Fire types thus far, BARELY edging out Charizard. Maybe it's because I like Silver so much. It was my most played Pokemon game by far. And loading it up into Pokemon Stadium 2, OH MAN good times. Before I knew about EV training, and competitive battling, my Typhlosion was a powerhouse in my eyes. Flamethrower, Earthquake, ThunderPunch, Dynamic Punch! Noone beats my Typhlosion. 3. Umbreon - No matter what the meta, no matter how strong or weak she becomes as the Generations go on, my eevee always becomes an Umbreon first. The cat lover in me LOVES umbreon. Beautiful, elegant, simple yet mysterious. Yes I am a guy, and this GUY LOVES UMBREON! I just wish she were more viable than just a Baton Passer 2. Heracross - Back in Silver, my personal favorite pokemon game of all time, (Soul Silver just as good) Heracross was the only pokemon besides mew (I think) that could learn Megahorn. He is one of the only bugs in this world I would not want to kill. Strong as f*ck, with the STAB on a 120 base Atk move (NERD OUT MAN!! O_O). Too strong, just don't send in a flying type 1. Charmeleon - The Pokemon series made this my most beloved pokemon of all time. When Charmander evolved into Charmeleon, not only did he look super cool imo, he took no shit from anyone, especially Ash. And the only reason he evolved into Charizard, was so he could fight Aerodactyl, but at the time, he was stuck in a hole (made by team rocket probably). He's a beast, and an awesome Pokemon even before he became the fan favorite Charizard. SO WHO ARE YOUR TOP 5? 5 TOO DIFFICULT? GIMME A TOP 10!?
  6. I was thinking what is the best NPC in video games, by AI, by voice acting and so on. For me with voice acting it must be David Sarif or Vaas and by AI it is Captain Price or Gaz.
