  1. Kingdom Hearts III Review – Written by DestinyDecade Copy purchased for review. It began in 2002 when Squaresoft and Disney would collaborate to bring Kingdom Hearts. Combining the role-playing adventure of Final Fantasy with the cute and memorable side of Disney, the first game would give way to a franchise that tells a tale about light against darkness. Fans waited years for a sequel after Kingdom Hearts II but what they got is Square churning out more games that would help shape the lore of the series. But come 2013, Square-Enix announced that Kingdom Hearts III would be in development. After six years of anticipation, it has arrived. Being the final entry of the supposed Xehanort Saga, is it worth the wait? Is Kingdom Hearts III worth a chance? Let’s begin with the game’s story and yes, Kingdom Hearts’ plot is a bit convoluted at times. Sora, along with Donald and Goofy are back yet again as they travel on a new journey, heading to different worlds and taking the fight against Xehanort and his true Organization XIII. While that occurs, Riku along with Mickey head to the realm of darkness to find Aqua, a keyblade master. Both of these plots eventually coincide, leading to two factions battling one another to determine the fate of every world. It’s a battle between the forces of light against the forces of darkness. From my experience, I did enjoy the story. It has enough to get me invested but also enough to literally hit you where it hurts, emotionally. Every world has its own story to tell, characters to meet and things to do. But the plot itself connects since the bad guys are invading each world and it’s up to the good guys to save the day. However there is some criticism. People who haven’t played every game and going into this one will feel lost, not knowing certain things such as characters and plots. Thankfully the game has a Memory Archive where players can catch up in preparation for this one. If you have played any of the Kingdom Hearts games, then this will feel really familiar to you. Kingdom Hearts III is an action RPG game that borrows elements from many of the entries and incorporates them into this one. You have access to your Keyblade, as well as Magic but this game also has some new stuff. One instance is the Formchange. Depending on what Keyblade Sora has, he gains access to a different form that can add a bit of flair to his offense. Some keyblades have more than one form with devastating finish attacks. Not only that but Sora can also hold more than one Keyblade. In fact he can hold onto three. This gives Sora the chance to mix it up and he can save a formchange for later if needed. Shotlocks make a return, from Birth By Sleep where you lock onto multiple enemies and deliver a powerful attack. This time, depending on the keyblade, you get access to a different shotlock and plus, some blades will have more than one. It’s a sense of variety that feels rewarding for players. New to the series is Attractions, giant amusement park rides that can do a variety of attacks. They all offer something new but some instances will give Sora rides that will deal heavy damage to foes. Another new feature is the Link command. Link Commands allow Sora to summon a special ally to the battlefield. They range from Meow Wow to even Stitch and can turn the tide of the battle. Only drawback is that it costs all your MP but your health does recover so it also serves as a lifesaver if things go bad. You also have access to team-up attacks with your allies and this time, Donald and Goofy don’t have to leave. In fact you can have up to 2 guest allies in your group, raising the party up to 5. It’s awesome and some of the support cast even comes with their respective team up attacks too. In terms of content, Kingdom Hearts III offers plenty to do. You have the Gummi Ship but this time, Square-Enix decides to make it a free flight mode where you can travel around to wherever you want to go. Like in Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, you can customize your Gummi ship however you want. Each of the three systems have plenty of quests and challenges to do. There’s also Little Chef aka Remy from Ratatouille and his restaurant, the Bistro. As you travel on your journey, you will find ingredients. They’re for Remy’s mini game. Most of it is simple but it’s trial and error cause if you screw up, you lose the ingredients. But when you succeed, you acquire meals and combining different meals together can boost stats for you and your party. It’s a nice temporary benefit if you feel the game is a bit challenging. There are mini games in each world, there’s the Classic Kingdom where you play handheld mini games to get a high score, there’s a lot to do. I kid you not. Beating the game alone will take you around 20 hours but if you want to 100% the game, it’s double the length. Not to mention there are three difficulty settings: Beginner, Standard and Proud. If you want a real challenge, the Proud difficulty is your best option. There is no Critical mode sadly but I hope that Square-Enix will consider adding it in a future update. Kingdom Hearts III is amazing. It’s truly awesome to look at. Running at a rock solid 60 fps, the game runs great but is flawless too. Not only that but load times are minimal especially when it transitions from cutscene to gameplay. I love it. It’s seamless. As for the voice acting, it’s still top notch with many familiar voices along with new ones, especially from the more recent Disney films. It’s pretty good. The music is enjoyable. Yoko Shimomura is truly a goddess when it comes to music. I’m not kidding. She delivers on some amazing tunes, not to mention remixes of familiar tunes. Every world you travel always offer something enjoyable, even when you are at the end of the game as well. It’s just awesome. But for all the good things that this game has, there are some flaws. One example’s the Attractions. They can be really overpowered and they come too frequent. Even when you turn off Attraction Extender, they still have a tendency to come in and can turn most fights into a joke. I wish Square-Enix could either tone them down or have them show up less. The game is also a bit easy, even at Proud difficulty. By the time you reach the end, Sora will probably have a lot of abilities that can help turn the tide of any battle, even the final boss. There is an ability that disables experience and it can make the game challenging but it isn’t enough. Sure this game is also meant to attract new audiences but it should offer something for players that want a tough challenge. The lack of Critical Mode doesn’t help matters. Last but not least, unless you’ve played every other game in the series, the plot will make your head scratch and wonder who some of the characters are. The Memory Archive does help for those that want to be up to speed but for anyone that has no idea, they may be in for a really confusing ride. So in conclusion, Kingdom Hearts III is a game that fans waited years for. Is it worth your time? Absolutely. Does it have flaws? Definitely. For all it’s negatives, this game has a lot going for it. It looks amazing, it’s easy to get into and play and it has enough that’ll keep you going for a long while. A 13-year wait reaches its end and surprisingly, it’s also on Xbox One so that’s a first. This game serves as an end to the Xehanort Saga and the end of a journey that spans 17 years. Let’s hope that Square-Enix doesn’t take too long for the next entry… hopefully. Seriously get Kingdom Hearts III. It’s worth your time. I give Kingdom Hearts III an 8.5 out of 10. It’s worth your money and your time.
  2. Hey everyone! I'm very new to this site! I just signed up now. I have been trying to reach Joe Vargas for a while now, via twitter, instagram, and exc. I am in the progress of making a 2D Fighting Game. It's a fan project using FM2nd. The idea of the game is to feature several YouTubers duking it out in a fun, fast paced, style. I've been working on it for the latter half of this year, and am slowly progressing. I was hoping to get in contact with the AngryJoeShow to see if I could represent them in the game via a character. The character would be Joe, and have references to different episodes of the show. On twitter I have posted a quick snipit of gameplay, which is still a work in progress. I'm also looking to include the AVGN as well as the Nostalgia Critic. I believe all three of these YouTubers have helped shape the way the platform has grown, and it would be great if I could represent them all in some way. I currently have a few other YouTubers joining the fold as well, that I have already received permission from. If anyone could help send me in his direction, to see if I can get approval, please let me know! Thanks everyone for your time!
  3. Hello, everyone! It's your friendly, neighborhood contest seeker here to give you another chance to try and gain something nice for yourself with no charge to you or me. This contest I found is for No Man's Sky for the PS4. There is one hitch to this contest, though, it's only for 5 days! So make sure that, if you're interested, so get in on this quick! This contest is being hosted by Gameflip, a site and app that is for gamers to buy/sell games, toys and other nerd items that can make your day a little bit more fun. If you don't have a PS4 to play the game on, don't worry! I have another contest on this page that is to possibly win a PS4 WITH the same game! As a side note from me, I will be looking to find more contest soon that have other game systems so that everyone can have a fair shake. As before, if any admin believes that this should not be on the forums, please feel free to take this post down. And to all those who participate good luck! https://wn.nr/R4SBAM

  7. A game that was greenlit on Steam has started a Kickstarter page. The game is called "The Hum". It's main intent is to be a atmospheric horror game but the creator wants to add some survival elements that may help it branch away from more straight corridor games like "Outlast" or "Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs". Here is the URL for the kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thehum/the-hum-game
  8. This is most stupid moment of all time. This story is about Japanese tourist got arrested for using Idolmaster credit card because they think, it's the counterfeit and fraud. That's bullshit. He just got the credit card from Japan and this credit card will exchange from Japanese Yen to US Dollar. WTF Policeman from Los Angeles!? Hello LAPD cops, are you playing Papers, Please game or what? What is an point? Why did you arrest the innocent foreign? You know what is going to be happen when resident will protest against LAPD and the government like did on 1992 Los Angeles Riots when pro-Rodney King and the others were protest against the government due to police beat up Rodney King for no reasons. As you know, iDOLM@STER is an Japanese rhythm and simulation game that made by Namco Bandai. This news event just came out on December 2013. http://www.japanator.com/man-arrested-for-using-his-idolmaster-credit-card-30660.phtml
  9. I'm a new member in service, and am pretty new to forum's in general, so I thought I would start off with something simple: What is your favorite video game, and why? Mine personally, Metal Gear Solid 4. *Warning, explanation and back story ahead for those who would rather type than read!* When I was in about sixth grade, the new Super Smash Bros. was announced, and I could not have been more excited! But there was one thing that eluded and confused me: Who is this "Snake"? What game is he even from? So, being a little curious gamer, I decided to look him up! Of course, I found out he was in the Metal Gear franchise, so I decided to look it up on YouTube and watch a few videos on the series. I found a walk-through of the first Metal Gear Solid, and decided to watch a few for hell's sake. But then, I was interested, so I decided to watch a few more. And then a few more. And then, in the blink of an eye, I had finsihed the entire game, and had even shed a few tears at the ending. Now, don't get mad at me that I watched it rather than played it. Remember, I was twelve, and my mom didn't want me to play those goshdarn "M" games! Pretty soon, within the spam of a month, I had watched the entire series, full playthrough of gameplay and cutscenes, within two weeks. I couldn't get enough of it! Of course, the PS3 was coming out at this point, and I couldn't be more excited for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. I was more excited than anything for it, and that was just to watch it! When it came out, and I watched the last playthrough video for it, I'm not going to lie, I was openly weeping. To this day I consider to be the most incredible game I have ever played, and my favorite game series of all time. So, what's your favorite game, and if you care to tell, what's your story behind your choice?
  10. Interested to see what people's favorite villain quotes are they can be from any movie, video game, or anime. I will start the thread of with my choice of villain -Vaas (Far Cry 3 Video Game) : ""Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same fucking thing... over and over again expecting... shit to change... That. Is. Crazy. The first time somebody told me that, I dunno, I thought they were bullshitting me, so, I shot him. The thing is... He was right. And then I started seeing, everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked all these fucking pricks, everywhere I looked, doing the exact same fucking thing... over and over and over and over again thinking 'this time is gonna be different' no, no, no please... This time is gonna be different, I'm sorry, I don't like... The way... you are looking at me... Okay, Do you have a fucking problem in your head, do you think I am bullshitting you, do you think I am lying? Fuck you! Okay? Fuck you!... It's okay, man. I'm gonna chill, hermano. I'm gonna chill... The thing is... Alright, the thing is I killed you once already... and it's not like I am fucking crazy. It's okay... It's like water under the bridge. Did I ever tell you the definition... of insanity?"
  11. Here's a game I remembered that probably a lot of you don't know it even exists. It's called Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked for PS2. Some of you may know about the anime Samurai Champloo that this game is based of. In case you don't know, here's the basic premise: the story takes place in feudal mishmashed Japan era where there's just mixing different time periods in different episodes. The girl in the middle (Fuu) was rescued by Mugen (Red) and Jin (Blue samurai guy), and they embark on an adventure after these 2 guys accidentally killed a magistrate's son during their "fight to find out who's the best". After that hilarity and badassness ensues. The game doesn't follow the anime's story. Instead it follows a different story created by Suda 51, the creator of Killer 7, No More Heroes and recently Killer is Dead. And in Suda 51's usual storytelling fashion, it's fucked up, although it follows the style of the anime quite well. The game is a hack and slash game which lets you play as either Mugen or Jin, and they both play differently. Mugen is more acrobatic and Jin is the usual samurai badass which uses formal samurai sword techniques. The game's art style is pretty similar to Suda 51's other games, which you can see right here. During gameplay, the game uses different "music DJ records" which you can purchase from stores and it will affect the background music and character movelists, so it adds to variety on how you want to fight in the game in different stages. The best part of the game is when there's a type of enemy that has stars on their head. Once you hit them, you can go apeshit on your controller, and if you reach 100+ hits or so, you will enter the "kill 100 enemies mode" where every enemy on the screen can be killed in 1 hit and the goal is to kill 100 enemies. If you kill 100 enemies, you'll get a special item, but if you get damaged 3 times, the mode is over. It's kind of repetitive especially if you do this in every stage, but the music during this mode is so freaking awesome that you will not get tired of this mode. I highly recommend this game to fans of both the anime and Suda 51.
  12. Alright so I decided I'm going to trend the waters of the forums here to see what kind of responses I get and to see what kind of people are here, and by doing that I will be (trying to) briefly talk about something that has comes to mind as of late. So there is this series that you may have guessed what it is by the name of the topic. "Armored Core," is a long running series of games developed by the guys at "From Software," (the same guys who are behind the more "well-known," Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, as well as Chromehounds on the Xbox 360.) who have been behind the crafting of these games since the debut of the first game, in 1997 on the PS1. It is a series of mech simulator action games, with 12 instalments currently released; the most recent one being "Armored Core: Verdict Day" which was released on September 24th of this year. Now with some background out of the way let's get into what I will be talking about right now. Now I will not be pretending that I am not the biggest fan of Armored Core, but I have been with the series for some time, starting with "Armored Core 2," on the PS2. I have stuck with the series and there has always been a constant, which is that Armored Core always gets less then favourable reviews, that's no secret. Though there have been a few recent reviews that came out that were decent, Metacritic also seemed to give it a passable score of 66. My problem is that these reviewers are clearly not fans of Armored Core, or any mech simulators really, or has stay with the game long enough to grasp it's mechanics. And yes this can be applied to a lot of reviews for games, but I am going to be talking about Armored Core specifically rather then what's wrong with gaming reviews as a whole, because people more capable then I can do that. Anyway back on topic, what irritates me is when I go decide "I wonder what other people think of the game initially," and I go check Metacritic and see the scores and the reviews. So the point I'm going to try to make is that if this is the kind of game you like or Verdict Day is your first Armored Core game, don't let people who says "this game sucks" or "this game has problems," or "it has no depth," anything among those lines, especially if they are a reviewer, you don't take a single negative they say to be as fact at all. Most don't have enough time with the game or are from a "hardcore" backing. From knows that they have a very loyal following those fans are willing to buy the game even if everyone around them says it sucks it doesn't matter to those fans, and those fans will always come back to those games as well. I should know because I'm one of them, I have yet to grab my hands on Armored Core Verdict Day, but I will eventually and I know I will. If you are on the fence about Verdict Day, or interested in trying the franchise, I would say go ahead and try it out and spend give the time it needs to truly get a hold of the mechanics and see if you enjoy it. Most fans of the game are enjoying it and playing it and those fans are missed by a lot of people judging the game. Does that mean all their criticism is invalid, no. The fans themselves are aware of the problems, like the more recent Armored Core games focusing more on multiplayer and leaving the single player campaign rather weak as well as being a lot more challenging without a team, but that could change with Armored Core 6. Since on the surface the Armored Core games looks the same, but between each numerical difference of the games (eg 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.) the games are different and you can tell if you play them, REALLY different in some cases. There are some other things I could mention, but this starting to look rather intimidating. I would like to take a moment and say that if after reading all that (congratulations by the way.) and would think the Armored Core community would alienate you because as a new player, don't bother with the ones that do, because the community is overall more open to have more casual players join rather then say the Dark Souls community; maybe due to the size difference, but I'm not too sure. Ironically since this game is hard to master, a lot harder then Dark Souls in my opinion and you are going to find it difficult to get into it. Though some people will pass that off as "oh the controls are bad" and "the gameplay is clunky," which only applies when you don't know what you're doing and just stop playing there. Try to think that it is like a fighting game, where if you go up against like a Blazblue player, who has been playing for years, and you only have a few weeks under your belt, you will get completely destroyed. With Armored Core it's not so different. If you go in expecting to do good and just lose completely one sided, the initial reaction people usually have will be "wow, this game sucks." Like I said if you are getting alienated, find other people, don't listen to those elitist idiots saying things like "I have been playing Armored Core for 10 years, where were you?" which doesn't matter since Armored Core changes every generation it may look like it doesn't on the outside, but it's the small details is what Armored Core is about and can really change how it is played. Anyway I talked far to long and if you managed to read all of that, then good for you, you really are a trooper. Yes AC is a quirky odd game. Maybe not for everyone but it doesn't mean if you're new you should give up. Even Angry Joe, I remember seeing a tweet when Armored Core 5 came out and said the game was broken at launch, and after playing it, there was nothing broken with it. He just another one of those guys who didn't give it the time it deserves and I hope he tries the game again and give it a chance. So enough of my ramblings if you like to add your thoughts, go ahead I'll more then likely give them a read, even if you call me just a idiot, or a fanboy, I would like to know. See you, Space Cowboy.
  13. Who is the best video game Composer?
  14. Hey fellow Army Men! I wanted to post this video of a metal montage of BF3. I don't really see any metal montages on YouTube, so I have to represent metal! Check it out if you have a sec.
  15. So, in this thread I'd like to ask what are people's most favourite video game moments ever? They can be anything! The first time killing a hard boss, the first time aqcuiring the Infinity+1 sword in a game, your favourite companion being killed off for real? Your love interest and your character sharing a tender moment, saving the galaxy/world/whatever, defeating the villain and utterly curbstomping him? Share these moments with us! Okay, here's mine: Almost everything in the whole Mass Effect trilogy, starting from Mass Effect 1... [MASSIVE SPOILERS FROM THE TRILOGY] Borderlands 2: Finding legendaries, that orange glow sure is sexy. Killing Terramorphous for the first time (or any raid boss, for that matter) So many others, but I just don't have the effort to write them all!
