Inception Review

A Dream within a dream. Within a Dream.

Short Version: Inception not only offers all the amazing visuals and intense action of a summer blockbuster, but a very well-crated and intellectually stimulating storyline. This is the kinda sophisticated action film we need to see coming from Hollywood more often. Several days later its impression on me lingers. It’s premise of dream exploration and collective subconscious dares the audience to think deeper. Great Job Nolan!

    Hey Joe!

Don't worry about not understanding everything going on in this film. I had to see it twice in order to start understanding everything that was going on.

Ok so let's start with the totem. First of all, it's not his totem. It's his wife's totem. It was something that was special an...

Predators Review

Short Version: Predators is finally a step in the right direction after decade of this franchise being lost in the dark. Its entertaining, wont do anything to piss off hardcore predator fans, but ultimately by the end I can’t help but wonder what the point of this particular story was? Its time to expand on the source material, this is a good first step but only just.

The Last Airbender Review

Short Version: The Last Airbender is torture. M. Night takes the excellent animated series – removes the humor and life from it and only adds a few cool CGI effects. Acting? What acting? Dialogue? I’ve read Fan Fiction written by 9-yr old’s stronger than this. WORST movie of 2010, and arguably the WORST movie in the last Decade and I’m easy on movies, unlike games.

    In defense of the Cartoon

-Sokka is the primary comedy relief in the series, and actually does bring levity and balance to Katara's subtle apprehension of the future and the weight of Aang's responsibility.
-Uncle Iroh is actually much more laid back and less withdrawn than in the film. He is po...

Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Review

Short Version: A pointless cash-grab remake that goes through the motions paying homage to the original but adding nothing of its own, aside from a “darker tone”. Gee how original. In just a few months no one will remember this film, just the superior original classic. It’s only saving grace is Jackie Earle Haley performance despite the material given to him.

Short Review: It’s Just like Playing with the Toys back when you were a Kid. Battles, Battles and More Battles. G.I.Joe was a great way to end the summer blockbuster season of 2009. Despite some dumb dialouge and plot points the film was well worth the money! Read on…

Movie Review: Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince

header

STONE HERE, and it is no secret how much I dig Harry Potter. It took me a little while to write this review of The Half Blood Prince because not only is it my favorite of all the books, I was really waiting for this movie. As the next movie in the franchise movie, it kicks ass. As a fan of the books, it leaves me wanting more. I felt cheated actually.

Movie Review: Land of the Lost

Stone here, and I love the Land of the Lost. I loved the TV series, I loved this movie. It did everything it could to look like the original but updated, and it really at no point took itself too seriously. It was fun and campy and very not at all what I expected. There is a certain factor of this movie that I have no doubt leave some people scratching their heads, and there are some things that you see and that happen that will no doubt have some people leaving the theatre. I saw it happen when I was watching this movie with my friends. Read on…

Movie Review: UP

Stone here, and Pixar is one of those studios that just can not seem to do wrong. Even with A Bug’s Life, which is considered their weakest film, they tell compelling stories with great visuals. Up is one of those stories that will hit you in your heart, be warned now. If you cried at the end of Monsters Inc, take some tissues. Sometimes you are left wondering “How?” when they reveal the basics of their next movie. Wall-E? A robot piece? Yet it turned out beyond expectations. So that’s where UP comes in from, out of left field a leaving you wondering how it will work. That’s what is one of the things that makes this movie so good. Read on…

Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen

Transformers 2-

STONE – I love Transformers. They have taken many shapes and forms in their animated lives and I think the movie did it justice. I have a lot of friends who just can’t stand it, but I ask them why. They like the various cartoons. Realistically, I could not figure out where I would have started in the adapting process to bring these robots to the real world. Talk about a daunting task! I do want to see more Megatron though. And I really love that they are delving into the Transformers lore and bringing up Fallen. Now they just need to bring on Unicron.
JOE- The main villian of this film might be Megatron but dont forget about the opponent that make make both the Autobots and decepticons leak a little oil in their pants!

The Devastator!
Actually I’m a little disappointed in his design, for one this guy from the trailer looks more menacing……
