I am wondering what people hate in video games that drive you up the wall? My list is below:

DLC, especially day 1 DLC

Regenerating health
Unskippable/excessive cutscenes
Escort missions
One hit kill enemies (RE4, RE5, etc)
Stupid teammate AI
Lack of teamwork in multiplayer team based games/modes
Lack of modding tools/capability
Playing music over the microphone
Console versions of games that are better than their PC port because developers were too fucking lazy or on time constraint to port it
Pay2Win, this especially in free2play games
Poor hit detection
One liners that get repeated over and over and over
Precision platforming in the third dimension
Shooting galleries/dull linear levels
Release first, patch later mentality (IE Simcity, Battlefield 4, etc)
Developers not listening to criticism for Early Access games
Tutorial levels
Excessive hand holding
Excessive streamlining of game features/mechanics
Turret sections
Unfair/cheating AI
Mandatory stealth sections

A mission that forces you to use a different play style than the rest of the story.

Spending an hour trying to get a cool, rare item to then realize that it is very low-leveled/useless.

Pointless love stories/ added drama that is in there just to add more suspense, but it is ok to have that if it's done well.

No tutorial or beginner's info skip option, even when you've already beaten the game. I mean some games are like that I get it but what is so hard about

Options: Tutorials -OFF

Those dialouge boxes you try to exit out of but the "cancel" button or the "back" button instead select the "Could you repeat that again" option.

Also, any loose ends not tied up by the end of the game but that goes without saying.

Bad writing.

EDIT: And bad design, just look at Dark Souls 2.

Tell/fat enemies that do shockwave attacks by jumping, pounding the ground, or falling over (a boss' main attack shouldn't be having a tantrum)

Having to protect people whose actions I have no control over and who go out of their way to get themselves killed

Bad hit detection

Invisible walls on or near cover/weapons/turrets/railings/etc

Unskipable cutscenes/dialogue (if I've seen it once or had to reload the level I might not want to watch/read it every time)

No new game plus mode for level up games (i.e.Deus Ex Human revolution, Shadow's Of The Damned.).

Unpausable and or skipable cut scenes (i.e. Metal Gear Solid).

Immature kids of all ages(i.e.A very good portion of the cod fanbase.).

Poorly designed game mechanics (i.e.Metal Gear Solid hand to hand combat mechanics.)

That's it for now.

CGI Cut scenes in MMO's showing you things that SIMPLY DO NOT HAPPEN in game.

2D Indie platformers where the main character is always in silhouette - Apart from Limbo that got there first

New games about Zombie apocalypses - YAAAAAAAAWN

That people gave Metal Gear Rising betters Scores than DMC simply because it had Metal Gear in the title.

Forced features - eg. being forced to use a touch screen at certain points when the rest of the game this is unnecessary - Uncharted Golden Abyss springs to mind. Touch screen quick time event boss battle = NO

When characters have a Back story but no actual character - *cough* Marcus Fenix *cough*

NAMED SILENT PROTAGONISTS - If the character is just 'you' it's fine - if they are supposed to be a character with their own story then NO.

Sewer levels. - Lazy

Platforming in first person shooters - Why?

That fourth game that comes out when an epic trilogy is complete because publishers like money- Gears of War Judgement, God of War Ascension.

A certain Owl

Bad writing/Lazy writing

slippery shoes

empty levels

rubberband AI

unskippable cutscenes

lack of research when developing the game, so I just assume the devs are incompetent morons

Games with jump buttons, but the button triggers a pre-rendered scene which makes for a lot of pit related deaths.

Escort missions - The person you're always trying to protect is dumber than a brain damaged pigeon and is always going TOWARDS certain death, making have to start all over from the beginning! (Thank god for inFamous making this bearable/sort of fun)

Terrible Final Boss Battles - I just got done fighting through wave after waves of grunts, took down some of the top cronies in the final bosses crew, and as soon as I get to the final boss he turns out to be the easiest goddamn part of the game!? NO! I expect a final battle, a test of all my skills up to that point or a climatic conclusion that ends in an epic battle! Not "Hey here's the final boss! Shot him here! You did it, YAY!"

Prequel, After Prequel, AFTER PREQUEL - *sigh* I get that sometimes characters have stories that weren't told but that doesn't mean that every last damn story needs to be told! God of War (Why Sony, why?!) has done this 3 times now and I'm done with it! GoW 3 ended everything on a good note and ended the story, we don't need anymore games! I don't mind hearing some stories about Kratos' past but at this rate we're going to know why Kratos won't eat grapes before they stop making GoW games!

A lot of what makes a game too easy isn't even with the difficulty of combat. So even if you set it to hard, it's still an easy game.

Fake difficulty in general. (Luck based missions, pixel hunts, camera screws, fighting the controls more than enemies, leaps of faith, trial and error gameplay, unwinnable situations by design.. I could go on.)

Game breakers if it can be taken online. (use of invincible frames to spam attacks, glitched moves that cannot be countered, etc.)

Unskippable cutscenes

Sensitive touch screen controls (oops i threw a grenade and killed myself)

pressing start to pause a cut scene when the game doesn't tell you start skips the cut scene.

having to watch an unskippable cuts scene over and over.

lack of control scheme and sensitivity settings in option menus.

checkpoints that restart you 5min from where you left off.

people not playing the objective in team games. (if you want to play it like team deathmatch then just go play team deathmatch!)

muddy textures

when everyone only uses the same characters or weapons in a game multiplayer game with tons of options. (master Yi in LOL and the Famas in black ops.)

having to sit through a long install and then a longer day one patch.

-Unskippable Cut scenes

-Cut scenes that you can't pause

-Buggy as hell releases (I'm looking at you bf4!)

-Repeating Dialogue

-Re-occurring jokes that aren't funny

-Games that kill my childhood/ my favorite franchises via poor execution

-FLAPPY BIRD AND ITS OVER 9000 CLONES!

If there is one thing that really drives me nuts, one thing in gaming I would get rid of if I could, it would be whats discissed in this video;

Sure, there's annoying things like difficulty spikes, bs dlc and stuff, but this is the worst.

Idiots on a whole. Yes fanboys, or white knights are annoying, and I wish they'd all just shut up, but there are also reverse white knights, or black knights around too, and they're just as bad, or even worse. While the white knights irrationally defend something, the black knights irrationally attack things. I've seen people attacking a game by saying it's pay to win, because players sell items gained only through PvE content in the game, for a lot of in game gold, right, that makes so much sense. Also even though they go on, and on about how much they hate the game, the companies behind it, and so on, they just live on the forums trying to attack anyone, and everyone there that thinks differently than them. Between the fanboy white knights, and the jackass black knights, is there really any wonder why only a small percentage of the community in a game go to the forums much?

There's also just the completely morons. In various games where every freaking aspect of the game requires you to do PvE, maybe even a lot of it, then even though they're here complaining about how much PvE they have to do to get to the PvP they so love, they still somehow think it's a PvP based game... I really hate idiots.

That along with fanboys, elitists and people who give unwarranted information on why one gaming machine is better over something else factual or otherwise.

Prob too many to list and I'm going to forget some/many and then remember later and be like oh MAN how could I forget that!

But, leaving out the obvious ones that everyone hates like lag, crashes, bad camera, corrupted saves, Perma-missables etc:

1: I said I'd exclude bad camera, but bonus points for uncontrollable camera, even if it's a decent one...combined with extremely nice looking environments... you know, ones you just WANT to look around at to enjoy the scenery...but can't. Castlevania lament of innocence did this, then curse of darkness ended up with one of the best cameras in a 3rd person beatemup ever, and had the most bland featureless copy paste environments ever.. ARGH.

2: Some kind of amazing music in an rpg you hear when exploring a dungeon with random encounters, that resets after the random encounter instead of pick up where it left off...so you never hear 4/5 of it unless you just stand there with the intent of doing nothing but listen to the song.

3: Otherwise good/fun games that are too easy even on its hardest difficulty setting if you are given the option of choosing it...AND no modability.. if hte game allows you to mod it (and I don't mean UI mods), to be harder, it is forgiven, and even given bonus points. I like good gameplay mod ability more than base difficulty. Diablo 2 was a great example of this.

4: MMO games where you can customize how your character looks very well...They even let you adjust boob size on girls?...but god effing forbid you can adjust HAIR LENGTH.. WTF?!? In addition, many mmo games prevent you from even showing your face because a helm covers it and you cannot disable the helm graphic. Ok not realistic I know, but I think that already went out the window when they feature girls wearing dresses most girls would trip over simply by walking let alone fighting monsters big enough to rip apart cities while wearing high heels.

5: related to above... mmo games with amazing costumes you fall in love with, but cannot display them in the game without sacrificing your stats or being forced to use their stats somehow.

6: Games that think (or are reviewed to) have high replay value simply because it has multiple endings, but otherwise make you play the game in its entirety up to that ending without any meaningful differences whatsoever in terms of gameplay.

7: Games with multiple playable characters that actually look and feel different than the default but do not allow you to use them except for very specific portions of the game..even after you finish the game... Ninja Gaiden sigma 1 and 2 are big culprits here.

8: RPG games where the main character is overpowered compared to the others (square does this a LOT) and/or rpg games where you can select who your party is except for 1 person you are stuck with.

9: RPG games with huge towns full of npcs to talk to who are mostly boring as fuu to listen to speak...bonus points if there are parts of the game where you MUST speak to a certain (or all!) town npcs in order to trigger the next story event.

10: bosses that are brutally hard, if not impossible, if you don't preemptively equip some kind of gear that makes you immune to something like paralize, and then dirt easy if you do. I want to challenge myself playing the game, not be forced to make a no-brainer decision that will only ever fool someone once.

11: Games that are too obvious about everything being rocks/paper/scissors Like FF10, flying enemy? use wakka, blob? use lulu, armored reptile? use auron...It wasn't strategy or tactics, it's like playing put the square peg thru the square hole that we all thought was something spiffy when we were like 2. Forgiveable if movement and positioning makes counterting the enemy nature more complicated, as is the case for games like rise of nations.

12: RTS games favoring the ability to click boxes/hotkeys faster than actual strategy. For example in warcraft 3, an undead player who is good at using unholy strength and such quickly and efficiently in the heat of battle IS going to stomp a player who cannot unless their strategy is *WAY* inferior.

13: Games that spam you with tons of text that isn't important so you're mashing the ok button and then right at the end they ask you something crazy like "would you like to delete your equipment?" without any kind of buffer between the useless text and the question so you accidentally click ok to that too (ok that specific example never happens but you get the idea, there are plenty of examples where I have to reset and reload though).

14: RPG games thinking they're being epic or something by having every single character in your party say a 1-liner before a boss or something..forgiveable if they do it once or twice, but nowdays I see them do it for like every boss, and they often say pretty much the same thing. I love neptunia but they are a great example:

Neptune: okie-dokie, here we go!

Nepgear: I'll try my best!

Nisa: FOR JUSTICE!

Uni: I hope you're ready to lose!

Blanc: Imma beat the @#%@% out of you

etc.

Like ok, I can guess they are all gonna say that, don't need to repeat it for the 20th time after the 20th boss battle.

15: The whole everything valuable being random phenomenon, and purchasable items from stores being bottom of the barrel garbage...For once I'd like a game where stores offered great stuff, but you couldn't afford it all, so you had to like you know... choose what to buy wisely. That's like almost never the case anymore. Bonus points of suck if bosses have a random (and low ofc) chance of dropping something incredible, often otherwise unobtainable.

16: Mediocre (at best) gamers in an mmo who raise their nose at you or anyone else for not doing the exact cookie-cutter thing suggested on www.elitegamers.com or whatever and insult. These same people often pretend like it never happened when your own personal decision turns out to be the new "thing" later on (I've had this happen several times actually)... Even if it never does become the thing, they can't wrap it around their dumbass heads that sometimes people in different situations might require different things... ok so some super geared main tank in the world's most progressed guild says ____ and ____ is best. But maybe that doesn't apply to someone else who is in a different guild on a different server with half as many healers and too much dpsers, so it's only effing common sense that having survivability on a higher "budget" over aggro-management would be the smart decision, since they you know, have less people healing them.

Basically, the whole mmo mentality of people being so incapable of thinking for themselves that they cannot recognize (or respect) something as obvious as the above even when you tell it to them when they ask you why you do such a thing but aren't really asking so much as trying to be a snarkass idiot.

17: "those guys".... you know... those guys in your guild who are always doing something stupid (like mean/rude stupid, not play bad) and for some reason kept getting reinvited back to your guild OVER AND OVER even if they rage quit themselves for like the 5th time? Dear guild master, you're a nice guy, you assembled a fine guild, I'm happy with our progress, and we couldn't have done it without you...BUT WOULD YOU PLEASE consider the people in your guild who are fed up with mr. jerkass over mr. jerkass himself for a change? please? please?! UGH

18: Not sure if it counts... but unsupported mmo games being dead. Open source your server code or something now please.

19: I don't like fighting games much, the only genre I don't really like, and the biggest reason is this: hitboxes just dont' make any effing sense to me. Like you have one character bigger than godzilla who can punch across the entire screen with arms thicker than most other character's torso 2 times over (like ptenko in guilty gear or whatever his name is), and then you have a character who is small or whatever. So like, the big guy uses their big long range attack from so far away that the other character isn't even capable of hitting the big guy with their longest range melee attack. But the other guy is just spamming attacks anyway just cuz big guy might charge forward suddenly or something. I dunno. But anyway big guy attacks from that far away and small guy slaps the air, and his slap touches the big thick arm that's currently impaling their entire body..what happens? big guy falls backwards taking damage while small guy does not.

Not saying this is always the story, but rather my point is there are just too many times in fighting games that I don't know as deeply as a pro, but I DO know range mechanics, this hits from far away, this does not, this character is strong at range, this character up close, etc. And when I see such blatant nonsense over all sense of the above, I just give up... like what did I do wrong.. attempt attacking an enemy at a range the enemy is incapable of retaliating at? really? I mean what am I supposed to learn here? That's why I dislike fighting games, the rules are all arbitrary, you need to know the exact mechanics of every move of every character to the letter because they really have no level of common sense application at all (and I mean common gaming sense, not reality).

20: Boring pointless trash. Some people actually think this is how games should be because it's all they've seen and they think different is obviously wrong... But seriously, I don't want a game where you have 20 minutes of boring trash/stage and then a 2 minute interesting boss. Trash/stages should be just as interesting and challenging as the boss. Bosses are supposed to be more challenging than any single trash enemy yes, but they don't necessarily have to be the only challenge in the entire game. blah.

21: Racing games where the cpu opponents are hard-coded to always keep up with you but otherwise suck... So like.. you know.. doing better than anyone else in the entire effing world by a full minute and then making a small 5 second wipeout at the very last corner results in you losing. Where you can play god awful and as long as you save your nitro for the last 5 seconds you win.Fzero for the SNES, which people constantly praise is very guilty of this. I think most super mario cart games do this too but I don't play them all.

22: Games that have stat screens or graphs (often for weapons) that flat out lie... Call of duty guns are a great culprit. The power/accuracy/etc bars are seemingly drawn from a hat compared to their actual stats...I especially hate it when you are given the bars of stats for things with clearly hard values that would make more sense (like 25 damage for torso short, 40 damage for headshot, 15 damage for long range shot, range being 100 m, etc).

23: Similar to above...But very technical games (strategy, roguelike, dungeon crawler) where the player is given lots of numbers and figures and math to work with "this sword does 3d6 damage, your armor reduces damage by 20%, your chance of hitting is 90%, etc", but leaves something out of the overall formula and basically gives the player no means of determining it. For example, imagine a game that does the above like I said, and then their ability list is like: pummel: Deals high physical damage, smash: Deals medium-high physical damage, bash: Deals low damage but has a good chance to cause stun".

What's high damage? what's medium damage? What's a good chance to cause stun? high damage = 300% of a normal attack's worth of damage? 200%? I dunno, WHAT?! ARRRGH I HATE THAT

Games of these nature also frequently have a "luck" stat which may or may not tell you what they do. "Increases critical chance by 5%, and many other things"... what other things?

24: RPG games where you can set how fast text displays during dialogue sequences which is pretty pointless anyway cuz everyone I know just hits ok twice to insta-display each screen..but has no option to adjust how fast other text displays like the #s telling you how much damage attacks did.. MOST rpg games have these numbers appear for long enough that you don't care...but sometimes they are small or contrast poorly and are hard to see, and are fast...SOME games even have these numbers appear in stupid positions like above the heads of enemies, which is ok but as soon as the enemy is a bigass giant whose head is off screen, you can't see it! ARGH

25: ridiculous boob bounces...don't get me wrong, I actually like seeing ridiculously attractive outfits on girls in games, and I hope girls get hunky guys to meet all their fantasies too! But as soon as the boobs start bouncing around like they are operated via remote control, and often in separate directions from one another.. UGH. Some bounce is fine, doesn't bother me. But pretty much anything where added "Boing" noises wouldn't be out of place is just too much. Kinda makes me think they don't think the girl even looks good.. just a walking rack, she looks good! don't tunnel-vision on one thing qq.

26: Games with snipers or some kind of enemy with super long range that you may not even notice who magically know exactly where you are and fire at you as soon as you round the corner... Star wars: Jedi outcast 2 had these, as do several newer games.

27: action games where all the difficulty is delivered from pits of doom, traps, spikes, etc. I'm not talking about a cheap bat swoop over a pit at times.. I'm talking about where nearly every remotely difficult portion of the game is such BECAUSE of the pit, not because the enemies are hard, but they are hard WHEN THERE IS THAT EFFING PIT there. Dark souls 2 kinda comes across as this imo. People rant how hard the series is, and I think it's overstated greatly, but dark souls 2 especially. I don't really think there were any non-boss enemies I had a hard time with that didn't involve pits or something somewhere. So much of the game was spent walking on ledges with no rails leading to deadly falls! The game's combat mechanics and customization OWNS.. why would they trivialize it by making so much of it pit management?! why?! ARGH.

28: point and click mmorpgs...I have no interest in them anymore. World of Warcraft won guys... stop trying to compete with them. if you want to do better, you need to step up and make the gameplay better. not the graphics or hype or whatever...make it so combat isn't effing standing in front of enemies trading hits using cooldowns wisely.. argh... oh, and having big red circles on the ground saying DONT STAND HERE during combat isn't true action game combat tera. Vindictus is true action game combat, and they came out first btw.. glakjv. I know some people still enjoy these kinds of games, but don't lie and think actual non-mmo gamers aren't going to see that it's another point and click (and yes I know only noobs click over hotkeys, that's not my point).

29: Player-controlled markets... These would be fine if people played the game... used the market, trade, whatever...but what happens is you get some people who actually don't give a flying @%#% about the game, and who simply CAMP the market 24/7 buying anything that is priced below a certain point, and re-selling it at THEIR defined normal prices..and because they are there 24/7, they are never undercut, because they will spot dat @%#% and buy it themselves before you can blink...So then in order to make money in that game, you don't play the game, farm boss drops (unless you got a zod rune or tears of elchulus or something), sell what you don't mean, and make a bit of spending money.. no. You have to be like them and spend a significant amount of time market-playing...I wish these people would just find some virtual stock exchange game and play that than turn the economies of various games into effing realistic ones as opposed to fantasy just for fun let's trade and both be happy ones like the damn game wanted it to be to begin with.. argh.

Guess that's enough for now, nobody prob read past #5.
