Battlefield... Hardline?...

52 posts in this topic

Was just about to post this, but damn you got ahead of me...gg wp

A police themed Battlefield game...I have NOPE written all over my face. As far as I know Battlefield was always military...don't tell me it's turning into a SWAT game or something. Anyways these are only rumors though and I hope they stay that way. Battlefield is all about tanks, jets and rest of military vehicles and I doubt I ever saw police using jets and Apaches. I want a WAR game for Battlefield, not busting criminals ffs

EA, if you release this, you better look out for me or I will kick your ass!

The most irritating thing is that I read somewhere that it'll have an in-game store where you buy guns with in-game currency in the style of Counter Strike.

Wow, that sucks. If that's true, I will just keep clear of the game. If they going to turn the series into a CS game, they should rename it because I don't want to see Battlefield series turning into crap honestly. :/

*sigh* because that level of fighting happens between cops and thieves -__-  at least dice is working on battlefront and not this, but i would like it if they went back to WW2

Battlefield: Hardline. Standard Edition $60, Digital Deluxe Edition $90 & Premium Edition $190. Each DLC package sold separately for $50. Plus an in game store. *I'm just pulling these prices out of my ass, but wouldn't be surprising if they did charge it at the above prices, as for the in game store well if it does show up....guess EA is testing the waters to see if they can sell a game at retail prices and put an in game store in there as well....wait a minute Dead Space 3.....so I guess they can get away with it from now on all EA games will contain in game stores.

I saw the 7min gameplay footage before it got pulled down. Honestly the gameplay looked good, the game modes looked fun, but I will need more than that. Trailers have a way of deceiving.

If this game didn't have the word 'Battlefield' in it's name and was made as a separate IP, then maybe I would be a bit more excited about this, but with things as they are... I can't really say I'm happy. Only if the game ends up being amazing and gets a thumbs up from Joe himself will I even start to consider trying it out when it's released.

Oh sweet. This game will focus on cop 'n' robbers. This is like Battlefield with Payday style, Kane & Lynch style, Counter-Strike style, Grand Theft Auto style, and SWAT 3 & 4 style. I hope if EA will show us the price is less than $30. I'm very happy. If EA put the price over $30, I'm not happy like did in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Because there is very small campaign since Battlefield 4. But the multiplayer maps and innovations will be not enough if Visceral has lack of ideas, employees, and times. I hope Visceral will do this for Battlefield franchise after Star Wars game went on hold by Visceral.

It looks, alright, but how much warfare could possibly happen between some cops and some criminals.

And for flips sake can they just make a BC3 already?

Payday 2 in Frostbite 3? No thanks, I'll stick to Payday 2. If I thought it was anything like SWAT 3/4 I'd be genuinely interested, but knowing BF4 it's just going to be some casual corridor shooter with some lovely effects and set pieces for a huge premium price tag. Not to mention the wealth of bugs and DLC you get! /nope

I'll wait and see.

If it's offering something different to Battlefield 4 and Payday then it may be worth checking out.

If not then I won't get that upset. I just won't buy the damn thing.

Should be interesting to see what they throw up at E3, considering this video is over six months old now.

Based on the leaked trailer, it just looks like a reskinned BF3/4. I understand the desire to make money, but what is this going to offer over BF4? I'm going to guess nothing that will warrant the price tag.

I feel like they need to be pouring these resources into Battlefront and BF4, rather than trying to be the video game version of Apple releasing new iPhones every six months.

I agree 100%. They havent even fixed BF4 yet and they are already announcing a new one. And as people stated earlier, it feels like Payday 2 with bigger guns. It might be a cool game but id prefer they stick to the usual formula. Im curious how this will turn out but im notting getting hyper excited over this.

Yeah. I believed Visceral Games will use Frostbite 3 engine. I heard DICE will not help Visceral Games, but DICE will serve as overseen. Much like Forza Horizon (developed by Playground Games and overseen by Turn 10 Studios) and Uncharted: Golden Abyss (developed by SCE Bend Studio and overseen by Naughty Dog). Yes. This game is like SWAT 3 & 4 and Payday series (which is also made in Sweden). I hope that all of the guns will be available for both side and start with standard gun like did on Battlefield 4. This game will be released in Fall 2014 where it suppose to be released somewhere in Fall 2014 the same date as Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth where the suppose to be in this released date. Also, DICE will possible to develop Battlefield: Bad Company 3 after Star Wars: Battlefront and Mirror's Edge 2 before Battlefield 5.

I wish those grappling hooks would end up in BF4

Heyyo,

I wish those grappling hooks would end up in BF4

That sparks nostalgia with Battlefield 2: Special Forces.. Grappling Hooks and Ziplines ftw! :)

As for Battlefield: Hardline? Tbh I'm kinda excited. Tactical Intervention was sadly a flop... but the Highway VIP Escort mission mode was phenomenal. The High Stakes chase mode shown in the leaked video made me instantly think of that... and how it will easily be better on the Frostbite engine. I'm looking very forward to seeing that experience refined. They've already of course noted the rocky release of Battlefield 4 and they said they won't repeat the same mistake.. fair enough, but I want a beta to test that theory before I lay down some cash. I avoided the mess that is Battlefield 4 at full price (still haven't bought it tbh) after trying the beta... so it's beta or bust for me on Hardline. COPS N ROBBERS! :D

After what was Battlefield 4, I'm gonna be very cautious with this one but to be honest I'm not all that interested. What makes 0 sense is why have the Battlefield IP for a game that focuses on crime (Maybe the crimes transpire into a full out War on the streets?). If it didn't have the word "Battlefield" the game would probably be more intriguing but what can it offer that Payday and (soon, hopefully soon) GTA V can't already. I really feel that they should keep this away from the Battlefield franchise and come up with a brand new IP (maybe just: HARDLINE) as it derives far from what a regular BF game offers and could potentially turn off many BF veterans. Still, maybe we might be proven wrong but then again it's EA and considering what happened to BF4 even if this game was decent I'm probably gonna avoid this for a while. Gonna keep an eye out for this at E3.

Soooo, it's like a better version of Payday 2?

*giggle* Maybe

I'm not sure if Battlefield Hardline was inspired by thriller movies such as Heat which is featuring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro where they do heist mission, Miami Vice from 80's TV series to movie adaption, and then finally is Bad Boys which is also same released date as Heat where 2 black cops fight for justice. Unlike Bad Boys: Miami Takedown which is shit as compared to Kane & Lynch 2 according to unnamed game reviewer as mention. I just avoid playing Bad Boys: Miami Takedown and well as Kane & Lynch 2. I hope this game will be better. If Visceral confirmed that Battlefield Hardline was inspired by Heat movie, this is true. I just give the example.

I'm not gonna pre-order or buy it day one but I will get it eventually. Premium? DLCs? No point in the end people will play only the base maps and modes like always... I have premium for BF3, BF4 and I can't even play DLC cause NO ONE DOES. All because they split the fan base... Everyone should be able to play on those maps for FREE.

Well not long ago I made my own vid with my take on this.

What are they doing to one of the greatest FPS titles that ever lived? Turning it into some kind of a Counter Strike game with bigger maps...? FFS EA!

I doubt this will be a good game and I see no reason to buy it because 9 months after it's release EA will say, "Hey guys, guess what. We just made another BF game."

.................
