GTA: San Andreas May be Coming to the Xbox 360 and Possibly PS3

6 posts in this topic

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas could very well be re-released on Xbox 360 if a set of leaked Achievements is to be believed.

The Xbox Achievements site has a list of the new ways you'll supposedly be able to boost your Gamerscore. Though Rockstar has yet to announce anything officially, adding fuel to the fire is the fact the title's old Xbox Originals download has been removed from sale. Oh, and did we mention this month is the 10th anniversary of the game's original release?

Looks like it's only the Xbox 360 that is getting it according to Game Informer. It comes out this Sunday October 26 and is a downloadable title only. No price has been announced. It runs at 720p and has enhanced draw distance and has Achievements.

I purchased it but I have not played it. During the opening intro the audio was cut off and the first cut scene with Big Smoke had no audio either. I heard there were some issues with music not being played or overlapping? I'd just rather hook up my PS2 and play San Andreas from there than dealing with all these bugs.

if you want a true high def remake of san andreas then the true version of that is none other than the android or IOS version.

but i would recommend the android version because you can then get an MHL cable and hook up your phone or tablet to the TV and play the game with any moga controller you like in full HD, with all that remastered graphics and lighting, and social club connectivity for cloud saves and other stuff.

i have this now and i cannot get enough of it. absolute blast to play this old game on android with a controller. just amazing. way better than the PS2 version in terms of looks. in terms of control functionality, the PS2 / xbox original version hands down is the best one of course, but i can do fine on the android one with moga as well.

if you're going to play this on a PS2 or xbox original i suggest getting a component cable rather than S video or SCART (europe), far better picture quality even from those old consoles with component cable, works great on any HD tv so long as it supports component. doesn't look as good as the android one but it looks good none the less. i play it on a vivid colour scheme on my TV and it looks awesome even all these years later. only thing i dont like is the lighting textures. the android version has been redone to show realistic lighting, but the console versions are crappy - night time is never actually dark enough to simulate night, but android version does this very well.
