Star Wars Battlefront : Fighter Squadron game mode trailer

I like this trailer, yet i expected more, however you can't tell this on the BF subreddit without having the greatest shitstorm in you, so i'll just say it here.

What do you guys think how Battlefront is going so far? For me, it's looking nice, but it's not a game i would call Battlefront, but Star Wars "Something", since objectively it does not resemble the other Battlefront titles. Not sure if you guys get what i mean.

Personally my interest in this game is increasing, and I'm now more inclined after seeing the last few trailers to get the game. Sure they've left some cool things out that where in BF2 but I have to admit this does look pretty damn awesome.

Looks good so far, thought it would be awesome if you could take out those star destroyers and prevent it from launching more tie fighters like in battlefront 2.

While this does look pretty cool, I have 2 problems:

1- According Joe, Jesse Cox and some other people, the flight controls are awful, if that is the case, then piloting the fighters will be a nightmare.

2- Since there's no space combat, I see wasted opportunities. As Blurmania said up, why not give the option to go to space to destroy spawn points? Have 2 phases of the escort mission they showed off? 1 in the skies of the planet and one in space. They have the technology and the budget to do things like that.

it looks good but my biggest concern is that the game is going to be battlefield star wars mode

Well as most people say and the reason why content is missing in the game. ITS EA pulling the strings on the game.

See I would actually be okay if that were the case. I'm worried that that the game will resemble more of Call of Duty with the lack of a squad system. As far as the flight stuff goes it looks great. I just hope the controls can be remapped assuming they are as bad as some claim.

I'm really liking the look of this game now. :) Despite the concerns, I believe it will be good, if not great. A shame about some of the Modes from Battlefront 2 not being present, but what we're getting now seems pretty cool!

Now we just wait until Game Journalists, Reviewers or Angry Joe to start screaming about the inevitable deliberately cut-out of the game content being released as DLC. Come on, we know it's going to happen. I'll still buy the game when it comes out, even though I'll probably be screaming too. XP

The problem i have with this game is not the game itself, because so far i'm probably getting it too, is that Reboots normally have some resemblances to the previous games, this does not have anything from Battlefront at all, so far, nothing that you could say "Oh this is from battlefront", and that's what annoys me the most, because it looks like they just took the title to get some additional munnies.

This is quite true and knowing EA, they probably did do it for extra munnies. But at least it's still Star Wars, even if it's only Battlefront in name only.

(Also, nice use of Munnies there. X3)

No they are not, they are putting a glorified Team Deathmatch with starfighters, with occasionaly some "Destroy this ship" as an objective, which is in my opinion way inferior to Space Battles, which are not just Dogfighting.

To be honest i don't really care if it's inside the planet or in space, the background is probably the least important thing, but i personally found more entretaining assaulting the enemy capital ship.

I like the trailer, but I suspect another Watchdogs is on the way.

Also, I'm sorry, but I cannot get over the fact in a game with Star Wars written all over it their is no space combat. I get that they want to combine the ground battles with the air combat and that can't really happen in space for obvious reasons, but why can't we space battles in a separate mode?

They stated that they want  to focus on planetary combat and get it "right".

We want players to stay in the same [environment] – we don’t want players to fly off and do something over *here.* It’s about the Battlefront experience, so we want to keep you in-atmosphere and fighting with the infantry.

Sounds like BS to me.

There are a lot of things i do not understand from what is going on with this game yet.

So they want to get this part of the game right then focas on other areas.

There you go, EA and Dice have pretty much admitted they are releasing this game before it's ready!

And inevitably they'll sell this fucking space combat mode as DLC. Fuck EA, fuck Dice and fuck this game!

I'm hopeful that at least Mirrors Edge Catalyst will be good but Battlefield and Battlefront (which is pretty much Battlefield with a Star Wars paint Job) are just POS store fronts to sell ludicrously overpriced pay to win DLC.

Without a campaign this is a $20 game max. If Mirrors Edge Catalyst sucks I will never buy a Dice game again.

I have one big issue with this game mode and flying in general.  The crosshair  is using some sever auto aim when firing on fighters.  That is a complete turn-off for me.  What's the point of having missiles when your main guns can track the enemy that well?  how do you escape from someone if the guns are auto aimed?  Even if you have to be in a certain range for it, I still don't think it should exist, it just makes killing other players way too easy
