All Black Ops 3 campaign missions are unlocked from the start.

More like a vain excuse for some tech/gun porn.

No, CoD has always had a pretty good campaign (Ghosts and AW aside)

This is an interesting way to do things and I fully support it. It's pretty cool especially with the rise of co-op titles and such.

An interesting decision...considering most play CoD for Multiplayer, but at least it's still there...I just hope it's good....maybe.

I don't really play CoD that much anyway, not my Cup of Tea.

I don't understand why they would do this. Is it just a way to unlock everything so someone doesn't have to actually play that part of the game? Has it gotten that bad/boring? The only time I see games allow you to directly skip part of a game is because it's the tutorial or a heavily controversial story point (such as Modern Warfare 2 with the airport shootout) and generally are short or the size of 1 level.

But to pick a game up and just skip to the end? Why? I see no point to this, it just seems like a slap to the face of everyone who worked on it. As if their work doesn't matter, just skip to the end and go play multiplayer.

Seems like it could be pretty cool if they tell the story anachronic order or something. Still not gonna buy it until its like $20 though.

I agree with you but most people who play cod don't even give the the campaign the light of day, With this, they might at least play the last level for shits and giggles

I still start laughing my ass off whenever anyone claims Call of Duty has a good story.

Call of Duty's campaign is akin to a Michael Bay movie. It's flashy and looks pretty, but it's flat and flimsy as cardboard and you can see what few plot twists there are coming from light-years away.

BO1, awesome, MW (the first), awesome. The others (minus AW and Ghosts) were enjoyable, but nothing new.

This pretty much sums up my own opinion on the matter.

It's because they don't care about it

They cared enough to at least include one, which is more then can be said for most shooters nowadays.

*Cough* Battlefront! *Cough*

I really do want to see Call of Duty become a good game again and not just more of the same every year. Advanced Warfare was a step in the right direction gameplay-wise, even if the story sucked big hairy balls.

Unfortunately from the beta it looks like Black Ops III will be taking steps backwards from Advanced warfare and back towards the same old shit.

I'd argue the opposite. It seems like it's keeping the MP feel SOMEWHAT, but you can't stray to far from an established series and still be in that series. Look at Hardline. It simply didn't work. If it had slipped the bonds of being a battlefield title, there may have been less restrictions and it MIGHT have not been shit.

As far as BO3 is concerned, I haven't been this excited for a CoD in a long time. I've always enjoyed the games themselves. Ghosts may have had a shit story and AW may have been predictable (but still somewhat good), but it looks like there's actual care being put into the campaign this time around, and that excites me. I always play the campaign before going into MP or Zombies.

Zombies is the only reason I bought a more recent CoD game, and that was Black Ops II.

In which the campaign story was so stupid and cliche it gives me nightmares to this day.

I frankly don't care if you can skip missions, the only they're gonna convince to buy this is if the campaign has a decent story and DOESN'T HAVE SCRIPTED EVENTS EVERY 5 FUCKING MINUTES.

I don't mind the scripted events as long as said events have a good reason to exist and don't just showcase yet another explosion/jet plane/buddy being inexplicably unable to extract his arm from a door in spite of wearing a suit that makes him a superman.

It's something a little different and you can still play through the whole campaign chronologically if you want, yeah I'm Ok with this. Whoever thought we would see the day when a COD game is looking like a much wiser purchase than what DICE are putting out!

Well .... For me personally that's every year for the past 3 years but I get where you are coming from.

In addition, this also proves that they are putting more thought into the campaign.

Then there’s the new Realistic difficulty level to take into account too. “[in Realistic] you have one point of life, so if you’re shot once, you’re dead. It completely changes the way you play the game,” says Blundell. “You all have to survive as a group. You end up respecting the level in a completely different way, and once gunfire opens up, everyone just drops to the ground, because if any one bullet hits you or a grenade goes off near you, you’re dead.” The AI too has been entirely rewritten to “make independent decisions,” he adds. “We have more types of AI than we’ve ever had before.”

That is a high level of insanity right there.
