Star citizen 3.0 Hype !!

This weeks AtV episode was about usables. Interesting topic because I think usables is an important aspect to make the game world feel more living and dynamic. Huge amount of open world is nice but if they feel static they are not very interesting in the long run.

 

 

Schedule report informed that currently there is only one blocker bug to fix before Evocati-phase. But as always situation may change in software development - a fixed bug may open couple new ones.

Finally, 3.0 has been released to EVOCATI.

Hope I am in the first PTU testing wave and will keep you a bit updated.

The topic of AtV this week is manned turrets. Not a topic I'm superb excited but definitely good to see some improvement over current turret implementation.

I hope I will be on first wave as well. It will most likely take some time before the first wave will be included but that's OK to me.

Do you have had in mind try to join Evocati at some point? Just for interest, which ship(s) do you own?

3.0 is a massive joke.

From what I gathered, performance is worse than ever.  The physics engine frequently screws up.  NPCs bug out frequently (and are strictly scripted).  Here's a real player parking a Nox inside a Cutlass.  

It's a hot mess.  They rushed the build so it'll be out in time for CitizenCon.

Star Citizen Alpha 3.0 is now published for some amount of player in PTU. I have tested it roughtly about 13 hours now and submitted multiple of bug reports. So far the testing has been very fun and it has definitely made me even more convinced that Star Citizen will be the space game I want to play. CIG has done amazing job so far.

CIG will publish 8 episodes of ship design series started from yesterday. Very interesting material for those who are interested to see how ships are being designed, their functionality and state of progress:

This guy is channelling much of what I and others who have been critical of this project have been saying for years.  The broken unfinished gameplay, the heinous business practices and the lack of progress.  I played during a free weekend a couple of years ago (I think it was 2.0 at the time but don't quote me) and back then the game was BAD!  Judging from what I have seen from various YouTube videos with 3.0 and if anything it's got even worse!

These guys playing here experiencing literally continuous issues with MobiGlass, UI, physics, inventory and even random spawn deaths among many other bugs and their reaction is to just laugh it all up!  This fanbase is so acclimatised to a game that doesn't work properly that they are literally eating it up anyway!  The game is literally a joke and that's why CIG are able to literally get away with whatever they want!  Even the loot box sucking Blizzard fanboys look like frigging Siskel & Ebert compared to these guys!

 

This isn't one or two isolated game play videos either, I've seen multiple ones at this point all have had some kind of problems!  Like this guy trying to something as basic as landing on a moon!

 

 

I don't know what else to say to these fans anymore!  Chris Roberts could go to their houses and take shit directly from his ass and rub into their children's faces and they would STILL kiss his ass and pay him!  I mean look at the sate of this game now, it's been in production so long that even the once showboating graphics are starting to look dated yet the performance seems to be getting worse.

 

Chris Roberts, do us one of two favours.  Either stop trying to show off and focus on delivering a functioning product or just..... piss off!

Wow I'm so glad this thread kept going ! (credit to crazy crab what a hero). All jokes aside; 3.0 is finally here =3. If you have access we can hangout and search for that easter egg or what ever else! Since the new patch ac; 3.0 is much more stable. I'll check this more often and leave my handle. :)   treasureknight   <==  what a surprise !

After testing PTU.673332 and PTU.674844 few more hours I'm happy to see how things are getting improved - thanks to all testers. Delta patcher has worked without issues so far and I guess we will get new patches pretty frequently.

It is still too early me to play the game although I have had interesting and fun game session during the testing. Fortunately not all players shoots on sight :)

Other than the bug which made one of my favorite ship (Aurora) unplayable it has played well and had many unexpected and fun gameplay moments :)

Hopefully they would be able to release PTU.676042 today.
