I am pretty sure that yes we can. I know it was at least that way before Steam machines were brought about.

I for one am pretty interested in it. An OS that doesn't run the 90 bajillion background programs that windows does, which serve no damn purpose besides eating up CPU and RAM resources, sounds like something I want.

On a related note. Don't buy a Steam machine. Extremely overpriced and limited functionality. Just like Alienware, you are paying for a brand. You can build a desktop PC that will blow the high end Steam machines right out of the water and into the vast dark abyss of existence for much less than what they charge.  As far as I am concerned Steam machines are a gimmick, at the very best they are a way to lure hardcore console gamers who don't have the intelligence or patience to research and build a PC, into the warm crushing money devouring bear hug of Steams bank vault of money that Gabe N. swims around in like Scrooge McDuck

I go nuts every time a huge sale is on.

Other than that I love it, contacting or finding friends is easy for me with it.

I have to disagree. VR tech has been around LONG before Kinect. It was just so expensive and complicated that there was no hope of having a consumer home setup. With modern advances in computers that is now an easy reality.

I have not heard ANY review or read ANY article about a Kinect game where the Kinect is praised for it's controls. The first Kinect was inferior to Playstation move, and the playstation move was no phenom of control technology. I can say that from experience because I used them both a lot. The new Kinect is BARELY better I still constantly hear complaints about how it does not register movements correctly, while PC technology is giving us things like the video below.

Kinect is not capable of that. PERIOD.

I was using a dual core 2.4ghz before and I couldn't run SOURCE engine maxed out with a GTS 250 1gb. I moved up to the 3.3ghz hex core and now I am running Planetside 2 maxed at 40-60 fps. I know it has way more to do with the processor since the video card I bought is no where near top of the line, in fact it's pegged as a budget model. Nvidia GTX 650 2gb. Even though games only use two cores you have to think about the fact that those 2 cores are now entirely devoted to running that game and the other 4 are running the rest of the PC. The AMD FX-6100 came with software that lets you set a lot of custom parameters about which cores do what when and how. I have it set so that there are always 2 full cores dedicated to games and the other 4 to the rest of the PC, it makes a huge difference.  I'm not saying you are wrong or trying to argue, just trying to help you understand the mechanics of how a 6 core vs dual or 4 core is different. I have not heard of Intel processors including software to unlock cores or determine how they are used. It may exist I just have not seen it.

Fucking classic. It's the little things that make the original studio version so good. The organ in the background and that ride especially.

I doubt it will be soon but it would be great if it was. In the last few years consoles really have become pretty much useless we can now easily have a PC running on a big TV, build one for a cheap price, have a massive library of old and new games, get the most indie games, get cheaper prices, easily use controllers, get more exclusives overall, most new games are on all platforms and the PC, the PC is starting to even get older console exclusives now like Ikaruga and JRPGs like the Legend of Heroes games, and new things like the Oculus Rift. If the consoles were just gone and their exclusives were on the PC that would be great.

The problem is that it SUCKS and does not work as advertised.  If the kinect was a good platform for controlling a game, there would be no Omni treadmill or Cyberith. They would just use kinect technology, but since it does not have the capabilities it needs to work properly it's nothing more than a gimmick

Which processor? I have an AMD FX 6100, that I got for less than 100 dollars. My friend has a 3000 dollar rig (I told him he was an idiot for buying it) and in benchmarks tests mine blows his away. I have a patchwork home made PC that all told only cost 800. (I am supporting your argument there) but a 6 core processor will blow away a 4 core of the same speed, maybe not in games since most games dont even use 2 cores but in other pc operations it is a night and day difference.

And those are just the high profile I can remember off the top of my head. Comics may be an older media but it's a bit weird to say that american media ignores homosexuality. To be honest, I enjoy those characters especially because it seems organic and they never make a big deal out of it or go out of their way to shove it in people's faces like many gay rights activists(and pretty much all other lobbyists sadly.) do, which ends up undermining their point and widening a certain segregation I believe.
If people don't want to write a gay or a whatever character we shouldn't try to force it by the way, that way lies ruin and disgrace.
For the record, sexuality is a thing that rarely if ever comes up in games. Other than the lame relationships in Bioware games I can't remember a game that does it at all. And I don't necessarily think it improves the narrative. Labeling a character as gay just for the sake of it sounds pretty unecessary especially when it would, in a bad example at least, just to appease a minority.

I see this thread was won in the first page.
PS - Hawkeye is not gay, at least not in 616.

I could care less what you do with who, but it really annoys me when I see shit like this. You always hear gays saying shit like "We're no different than anybody else blah blah blah". They get so upset when they are singled out, yet always seem to be the ones drawing attention to the situation and say "We're special we need special acknowledgement".

I forget what game it was but there was a game not even 3 years ago that allowed you to get married to a man or woman regardless of your characters sex. Which would make your character a gay protagonist

i played World in Conflict. Great campaign, but i didnt reay like multi that much, maybe its because its a bit too fast for me and feels like first who gets heavy tanks+heli's wins. Also infantry is just irrelevant.

    @Judge Lazar

Wait, so despite the fact that i can buy the game for 10e it still is full of gimmicks and pay2win? Thats a bullshit, wont buy it...

Also, im considering a Rising Storm for Red Orchestra 2 since i got lite, and got a bit back into the game. Its fun, not really like other fps's more thinking actually, less fighting.

I posted this in another thread as a response but since I am not sure how well informed people are, there is a group remaking from scratch the Morrowind game with the Skyrim game engine. Apparently the guy who made the video linked to a development video for the project.

The guy hopes it may come out this year, but it may be another year. (I am not too sure) But for those interested in taking a look here is the video I found.
