    Okay, um...what?
I'm not upset or happy just...meh. However, I fuckin love Telltale so maybe I'll get it.
  2. nickyzhere liked a post in a topic by Puntosmx in What case has a good air flow design?
Well, a case with good airflow needs to be big enough to let the air flow, and big cases are expensive.
Brands I know are good for it are Cooler Master, Corsair, Thermaltake and Aerocooler.
I have something like this: http://www.aerocool.us/pgs/pgs-b/x3devilred.htm
Though, I think it's a bit over 100 dlls. It's big enough for an ATX board and has lots of space for air to flow. Around 12 spots for fans (120, 140 and 200 mm), and holes for watercooling. BUT it has a gigantic HDD grid right behind the front intake which blocks some of the airflow. If you can, look for a case that can detatch that part.
The little brother of that case is the X1
    http://pcpartpicker.com/part/aerocool-case-xpredatorx1blacke
It's smaller and tighter, but the general setup is mostly the same, fits an ATX board and has room for lots of fans.
Also, this series has some neat fins at the top that you can open for increased outward airflow and just look awesome
Behr suggested the Cooler Master HAF 912 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-rc912kkn1). HAF stands for High Air Flow, and the three series (912, 922 and 932) are roomy and highly ventilated. They are boxier than the XPredators, but also look sturdier.
It has a detatchable HDD cage, shich increases airflow and allows for longer GPUs, so you get two benefits there.
Another Behr suggestion is tha Corsair SPEC-01 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-spec01redled). It has a split HDD cage, which increases airflow. You might find trouble fitting multiple long GPUs, but the specs say you can fit the longest in the market anyway, so you should be clear.
The only trouble you could find would be the limited ammount of HDD space, but with space for 4 3.5", you should have enough for normal gaming use.
The suggested Corsair Graphite (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-cc9011038ww) has virtually the same pros and cons. Just a few more HDD slots and seems to have less space for large GPUs.
The Thermaltake Chaser (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/thermaltake-case-vp300a6w2n) looks neat. It's smaller than the three above, but also has a detatchable HDD cage that allows the same airflow than the Corsair, as well as long GPUs. It being a removable piece allows you to fit more HDDs if you have a shorter GPU, in case you need the extra drives (http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001960).
Now, consider that you'll see the case every time you use the PC, so it has to be something you like to watch.
Also, most of the cases come with 1-3 fans. For optimal airflow, you'd better buy extra fans. The more fans, the better the airflow, but also the noisier the PC becomes. Also, bigger fans spin slower and make less noise.

The flames shall cleanse all opposition XD

Well, for starters, that it creates a neutral pression environment, which makes all airflow dissipate into nothing. Now... if you screw a couple fans on those new holes pushing air in, it'll increase airflow and cool the CPU and GPU neatly

I have no excitement for this series left. It has become akin to Call of Duty, in my opinion. Nothing makes me want to pre-order or get it on launch day. This series, (like Call of Duty) for me, is just kinda... there. I will most likely purchase it, sometime in the future after a price drop, but for the time being I can not get excited about anything coming out of it. It has become Quantity over Quality.
This series was steadily losing me from the point they introduced the Godlike characters. I preferred it when the series focused on the mystery of the Assassins and Templars and could have gone down the conspiracy route, having the Templars control everything and have it lead closer and closer to modern day where the surviving Assassins have to take out political leaders.

I loved the AC Ezio trilogy. AC2 is still one of my all time favorite games. Since then I've only liked Black Flag. Unity has left a very sour taste in my mouth, so I won't give a crap about Victory until it's fully released and 3-4 patches are done. Then if it's good, I might give it a try. I'll have plenty of other games to play until then.

Nope not interested. If they want me interested do an Ancient Egypt one, or Fuedal Japan.

I have no problem with this, it's not like I'm going to run out of games to play, hopefully it leads to a more polished final product.
  10. nickyzhere liked a post in a topic by Kedric in The Witcher 3 delayed to May 2015
The first couple months of the year was getting a bit crowded for me anyway with The Order:1886 and Dying Light so close, so I'm actually kind of happy to hear this. In fact, I want them to take as much time as they need to make the best game they can. Looking forward to it.
  11. nickyzhere liked a post in a topic by Glaice in Making the switch to primarily PC Gaming
Yes, it is in the long run.
  12. nickyzhere liked a post in a topic by fridgeracer in Making the switch to primarily PC Gaming
    yes, absolutely. here's why:

    - the PC is not just for gaming. you can do so many other things with it that are practical to every day life, like writing a CV / resume for a job, applying for jobs, even paying parking tickets. apply this mindset to whatever else you think you might be able to do on a PC and you will probably be able to do those things as well.

    - the PC gaming scene has the cheapest games, and the same versions of said games that are on console, that are still cheaper and are the better performing versions in terms of FPS and graphics quality.

    - the PC can be upgraded and modified to your desire. the PC belongs to YOU. a console is owned by you but it's use is still under licence to sony or microsoft or nintendo. you cannot modify or change any console legally.

    - the PC can still be used in the living room on the tv with a game controller. you are NEVER confined to the desk and a monitor like so many console fanboys THINK is how pc gaming is done. all you need is a really long HDMI cable and wireless keyboard and mouse, and wireless controller. the kb and mouse are used to just login to windows and fire up steam and go into big picture mode. after that leave them aside and game with the controller. for example, load skyrim up on your TV, with controller, just look at that shit.... BEAUTIFUL. beats the crap out of playing on any console.

    - steam sales at least twice every year. if you are patient enough you can be buying your most wished games for as little as £3.74 instead of £40+. for example, last steam summer sale i got myself far cry 3, biohock 1-3, dishonored, romb raider 2013, just cause 2, and a few others, all for at  least £3.74 each. i spent abouit £40 on so many games, i saved a small fortune.

    - get yourself a soundblaster ZR and a decent headset or a 2.1 speaker system and your PC will also be the party / disco machine of your life. PC just aint about gaming, movies, social networking... it can deliver the most pristine sound system you will ever come across for an affordable price. as i type this to you i am listening to the Miami track of Hotline Miami, on loudest volume with the bass penetrating the walls of my ear drums like a hammer and a console simply cannot do this for the same price.

get a gaming PC man / woman / bro. go for it. you wont look back.

they are so worth their money. they last for a long time. they are amazing. they give you so much for what you put into them.

consoles are very good as well, and i would ALWAYS recommend a console AND a gaming PC, but if you can only have 1 for the time being until money becomes more flexible, the best option that has the BEST performance and quality IS a gaming PC.

dont listen to ppl telling you "oh consoles have optimisation so games look best on there even if PC has more power", total bullshit. raw hardware on the PC thats better than consoles will always give your games better performance and quality, period.

this post was NOT a stab at console gaming,  it's simply a FACT of things. it's not PC or my fault that it's the more powerful and capable machine. anyone want to quote this and be all negative, i dont give a shit. go ahead.

now... my 5th cider of the evening is about to go down my throat. hope this helped whoever askwed the question. peace.

I dont understand why anyone would need to "switch" when you have both. Gamers should care about the games, not their title. Just enjoy each gme on whatever platform you can get it on and call it a day. Unless you mean you will buy pc versions of games that are also available on consoles like call of duty or something...
  14. nickyzhere liked a post in a topic by Zegers in How do these look?
I'm not sure what you mean by PCI 3 slots. Do you mean PCI-E 3.0? If so, then all of the motherboards I listed have them. The ASUS M5A97 R2.0 is around 70 USD on Newegg, but it won't be the best when it comes to overclocking that CPU, however, it will still provide a very solid platform. You don't need to worry about the PCI slots on any of the motherboards I listed.

The GTX 660 is still quite a good card. It will play most things on high settings, mixed in with medium on some of the more demanding games. As you said you're new to PC and want something to start with. What you have selected here is pretty good, though if you do plan to overclock I would get a slightly better motherboard. Something like the ASUS M5a990FX or the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 board would allow for a nice overclock on the AMD 8-cores. You'd also want to get a better heatsink, something like a Hyper 212 EVO is relatively cheap and will alloy you to get a decent overclock. The 8320 is a pretty solid CPU, and if you can get it to 4GHz stable the difference in performance between the 8350 and the 8320 will be very similar. All in all, what you have chosen will be a very solid gaming rig.

I get what you mean by it not looking like much. Same goes with Einhander now. It doesn't look like that much or even that hard but as a kid it was sure heck of a blast and probably still is. The farthest I remember getting in it was about stage 3 before loosing all our lives and having to start over. It was one heck of a game and if I can find it for the right price I'm buying it.

Telltale are the only developer I know where I will buy anything they bring out. I loved The Walking Dead series, Wolf Among Us was really good, and now Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones.
Considering I got the season passes for Walking Dead season 2 and Wolf Anong Us season one for less than £5 each, that quality for money beats out pretty much anything.

Telltale's next game is coming soon.
It's coming out this month (you can pre-purchase and look and neat things on the Steam page).

    Hopefully, my choices will matter.
Although I shouldn't say that... Tell Tale makes really great narratives anyways.

but we all still have a good time with Joe's reviews, the Pony thread, the thousands of songs posted on Twisted Chi's thread and the various fun things we had in the forum. Let's wish for the best for the next years to come!
