A thread gave me an idea of this and recently Steam Summer sale opened my eyes to this idea. Have gamers become too whiney and spoiled?

Sure, we got developers and publishers who sell shit for overpriced and sell games into a 100 pieces and almost every triple A game comes with some preorder bonus bullshit, just to lure people for preordering, but that's all consumers fault aka gamer's. However that's not what I wanna talk about. I wanna talk about sales, prices of games and people still complaining...

I remember back in 90s, early 2000s and till around 2005 when not many people had access to internet and Youtubers and reviewers like that didn't exist. Where if you wanted to buy a game, you had to ask either your friends that played it or you had to buy a gaming magazine and read about the review. Where sales didn't really exist and almost everything had a base and pretty big prices and you simply had to buy a game, most of the time, blindly. Most gamers back then would love the games and still fully enjoy them. Back in the time where we couldn't complain to the developer and then get updates that fix the game.

Now in 2016, we got so many reviewers and SO many sources to check to see if a game is worthy of our money and people still fail to make a proper judgment and then complain and cry. When they find a 40, 50 or 60 dollar game on sale for 20 or so, they say and wonder if that is still worthy or still call that a rip off. Back when I was a kid and I'm sure most of you, we were mostly forced to buy games off of rumors we heard about them, a few images and text in magazines and I gotta say, I was 90% satisfied with all my purchases. Even today, in last 5 years I can't remember more than 2 purchases that I regret.

These are all the games I bought since 2008-2016 that I can REMEMBER, meaning not all and only triple A titles:
Battlefield 3 + Premium (base game for 60 dollars and PREMIUM on sale) = around 80 dollars purchase
    Battlefield 4 = sale for 20 dollars
Witcher 2 = can't remember, think it was a sale for around 15 euros
Witcher 3 + all expansions = No sales, bought them all full because I trust CDPR so around 70 or 80 dollars
Guild Wars 2 = Sale for 30 dollars. I would not regret a full price because I put close to 500h here
Battlefield 2 + all expansions (Complete edition) = Full price 60 dollars
Counter Strike Global Offensive = bought on launch for 20 dollars or whatever the original price was
Counter Strike Source = 15 euros
Skyrim Legendary Edition = bought on sale and would support a full price if I was forced to. Great game!
Dead Space 1 = full price, 50 dollars
    Dead Space 2 = same like DS1
Dead Space 3 = same like DS1 and DS2 (no DLCs)
Medal of Honor Warfighter = sale for 30 dollars
Mass Effect 1-2 (3 I was gifted) = bought them all on sales except ME1
Diablo 3 + Reaper of Souls = sale for around 20 euros
Overwatch = full purchase because I knew I was gonna like it. No regrets!
Assassin's Creed 1 = bought instantly on launch
    AC2 = same
    AC3 = 50% sale
AC Black Flag = 40 or 50% sale
I skipped rest of AC after Unity. I didn't buy Unity either.

It's worth mentioning I didn't preorder any games. It's not something I like to do, even when I trust 100%.

Anyway these are games I REMEMBER and there is half a list like this that I don't remember and I don't REGRET ANY of these games I bought. ALL games that I wasn't sure I would really enjoy and that I wasn't sure that 60 dollars would be a worthy purchase, I just waited for sale until I would buy them. That is the reason I never regret any of my purcahses. Even some of the games I bought on sale I could say I would enjoy them at full price, but would never say, "Uh, this game wasn't worth this 15 dollars. I wish I could have my money back."

And yet so many people today whine all the time that every game is overpriced even when it's like on 50-80% sale. Like whining LITERALLY, all the time!
    "This is bad and overpriced"
"This is supposed to be a sale?"
"I regret this purchase for 5 dollars. I can't believe they sold this shit for 50$"

People open up threads on Reddit and forums like, "Found this game on sale for 10 dollars, original is 60 dollars. Is it worth it?"
    You fuc*king serious m8?
If paying for a product for 40 dollars less isn't enough for you, then you shouldn't even buy ANYTHING! The only way you won't find it worthy is if it's not your genre.

Games today go on sales a LOT faster than ever, even a month after release they go on sales sometimes and not to mention half a year later they instantly go on -50-80%. If you know how to fuckin Google and use your brain, you can predict if a price is going to be worth it. You have written and video reviews ALL over the internet right now. We have SO MANY sales EVERYWHERE and that might be the problem. I think many people got spoiled by them. I'm saying maybe, I can't say for sure but I get this HUGE feeling that we as consumers of games are really freaking spoiled nowadays. So many people whine and complain about prices, whether that's a full priced game or a sale price. It's like they either want everything handed for a minimal price, no matter how good it is or they want every game to be the price they WANT for their own taste.

Tbh after paying so much attention to how gamers react either by speaking to them directly or reading posts on social sites, forums and anywhere else, I realized that a HUGE number of people are too spoiled. And it's those people that complain ALL the time about the triple A industry. I don't see any difference between majority of gamers today and publishers selling overrpriced titles, they all belong in the same garbage dumbster for me. I don't think that most triple A games are even that bad today, I think it's mostly that people are too spoiled and expect too much. If a game doesn't fit their playstyle, they call it trash and open threads that it's overpriced.

I recently bought ESO on sale for 8 euros. I haven't had lots of time to play it, but I managed to put in around 10h so far and I freaking love it! For 8 euros, that price is pure RIP OFF. On Steam it's currently 20 euros and I would pay that much if I could now after playing it. Anyway, a friend who likes MMORPGs, I suggested him the game and he said, "I'm not sure if I wanna pay 8 euros for it. I'll think about it." lmao...
Okay, he is just one example I can think of because I talked to him yesterday, but there is many more I can give if someone asks me to.

Anyway, feel free to share your thoughts.

I got myself a first controller ever for PC when I started to Rocket League because everyone said it was easier, but when I used it, I just couldn't do shit. It would take me forever to get used to it so I just stick to Mouse and keyboard. I guess any other game would be hard for me with a controller. I guess using only M&K for 18 years does that to a man. It molds into my blood, it becomes my life. It runs in my veins, this keyboard and mouse blood. I'm Apex Spartan of House Mouse and keyboard, first of my name.

But yeah those look pretty nice and slick.

I would like to take a moment and welcome you to the AJSA NA League of Legends 1v1 Tournament. The inaugural tournament will be hosted on July 10, 2016 at 6pm Est. There will be 16 spots available in this tournament. Prizes will be handed out for first through fourth place finishes:
    1st place wins $75 2nd place wins $50 3rd place wins a 3500 RP code 4th place wins a 1380 RP code
To sign up for the tournament you have to be apart of the AJSA League of Legends Club and respond in the forum announcement with your in-game name. Seeding will be randomized Check in will be at 5:30 pm Est in the club chat. If you are not present by 5:45 pm Est your spot will be forfeited to the reserve list. The opening rounds of the tournament will be single match ups. The semifinals and finals will be best of three.
Match Rules: The 1v1 matches will be played on Summoner’s Rift (in the mid lane) and the win conditions are first blood, first tower or first to 100 CS. Selections, Early Rounds: The selection process will include a “chat ban” phase before a blind pick during the opening rounds of the tournament. During this process each contestant can ban up to 3 champions. This ensures nobody has an unfair advantage in the single match ups. Selections, Finals: The semifinals and finals will have a draft phase. There will be a coin toss to determine the order in which sides will be picked in the best of three. Winning: Once any win condition is reached, both participants take a screenshot of the scoreboard to submit for review if your game is not being streamed. If the score board is suspicious, the match up will be replayed with an observer. Suspicious scoreboards include reaching 100 CS before 9.5 minutes into the match which is the realistic threshold for 100 CS without missing a minion. Global Bans: The following list of champions are unfair to play against and currently have absurd win rates (54%+) while maintaining an unhealthy ban rate (30%+). This list is subject to change; Malzahar, Swain. Streaming: Games will be broadcast on https://www.twitch.tv/thetitan18 and/or https://www.twitch.tv/ajsagaming. Every semifinals and finals match up will be broadcast. Broadcast match ups in the opening rounds will be chosen at random and participants will be informed if they are selected. Non-broadcast Matches: All Non-broadcast matches in the first round have to be underway by 6:20 pm Est. All Non-broadcast matches in the second round have to be underway by 7:20 pm Est. This allows for remake time if necessary. Disconnects, Hardware Failure, and Bugs: In the event of any of these situations, the game will be remade if neither side has hit 60 CS. If one side has hit 60 CS, the CS delta has to be under 15 for a remake if the player affected is behind. If a remake is the outcome, the game will have an observer, and has to launch within 5 minutes of the decision. If this happens two times to one player in a match, that player will forfeit that match.

I don't think that's what he meant, Blizzard have always put Gameplay before Story in their games, but they atleast managed to make a few decent ones, their recent stories World Of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor and Starcraft were atrocious, just horrible. But I don't think an Arena Shooter NEEDS a story, you literally pick a character and shoot other characters, why do you need a story with that? What's the story of Quake? Backstories of Characters?
Anyway, as for the game itself, I personally don't like all the encouragement for switching between Characters or that there are Characters that are anything more than a backstory and visuals, but that's just personal preference. And while they DO look unique and colorful, that's about It, from what I've read about character backstories and Character lore, It's pretty ''by the list'' roster, you've got your Big Russian woman, you have the Female assassin/sniper ETC. But I also agree that the price is too high, especially on console and that '' Blizzard has made all the right noises about being committed to building on Overwatch, providing new heroes, maps and gametypes for free across the game’s lifespan. '' argument is quite dumb, what was the alternative to that? They'd make you pay 40$ for a game with no PvE/SP and even no Ranked/Competitive on launch and even MICROTRANSACTION , AFTER THAT they would be like ''Yeah guys we're bringing in new Characters and maps an' stuff, but you gotta pay''
But to be honest It absolutely is
Just take a look at The Escapist reviews for Battlefront EA:
The Escapist Nov 19, 2015 60 Star Wars: Battlefront does a fantastic job of transporting players into the Star Wars universe for a big initial kicker, but that ultimately fades when you realize how light it is on content and game features. A textbook case of style over substance.

    And then Overwatch:
The Escapist May 24, 2016 100 Overwatch is a fast, fun, and fresh take on the class-based shooter. Blizzard has made sure its first new IP in 17 years is polished to perfection.

I don't mind that players love the game and find It refreshing, I mind that no one is outraged by the lack of content, microtransactions and Critic pandering, players should be able to love the game while acknowledging that.

    In short, no.
You could just go into your bios to see if it's detecting it properly and if the clocks are fine, but I don't really recall ever hearing you need to reinstall an OS when you add or change RAM.

I'm not against it, but I don't drink it or give a shit about it. When I tell people I don't drink, they give me these weird looks. Kinda sad to live in a world like this. At least in my country because drinking sadly is a big deal here.

When I read that interview and the CDPR said, "Blood and Wine is the closing and there won't be any Witcher any time soon - if at all."

I'm sad, but I don't mind if they don't do it. Even tho I got full trust in CDPR and I know they could never milk these series if they released them every 5 years or so like they do with Witcher right now. They could always make a good Witcher game since the game has literally centuries of lore in it. So guys, I suppose that's the last of Ciri for you.

  20. Dyzzles liked a post in a topic by MadDemon64 in Victory Belles aka. Anthropomorphic Battleship Anime Girls (FUNDED)
I am a fan of Gaijin Goombah and like to watch his videos.  His latest one starts off as a (spoilers) red-herring talk about how a turn-based strategy game that was made in Japan about the spirits of WWII Japanese battleships turned anime girls might be anti-american that he laments can't be played without a Japanese IP.  At the end, however, he states that there is a kickstarter that intends to bring this kind of game over to America (and other countries) with its own story and characters.  They're even going one step further than the original Japanese one and including ships based on more than one nation, complete with voice actresses from those respective nations that speak the languages of those nations.  However, even though technically all the "Belles" as they are referred to in the game are on the same side, a bit of warning: these are girls based on WWII ships, so there will be Nazi ship girls, although the creators have stated that there will be various censorship options in regards to the Swastika for countries that ban Nazi imagery, as well as for people who would otherwise be offended at the prospect of Nazi imagery being associated with heroes and protagonists even in a purely fictional setting.
That being said, here is a link to the kickstarter page (less than a week left so if this grabs your interest you might want to back it immediately) as well as two videos, one of the kickstarter trailer and one of voice samples (avoid the voice sample one if dislike Nazi imagery):
